You're thinking about it for a young one, get it. Great starter car. My seven year old son greatly enjoys it. Battery life isn't bad and this set came with two batteries. Make sure to take battery off charger once it finishes; not a smart charging that auto shuts off.Bounces right along on the grass. Had no issues climbing back up on the road. Slides sideways on low and high speed. Great value for the money. Noise level won't be a nuisance to anyone.

When the car first arrived for our grandchild, I took it out of the packaging and installed the batteries. Of course it had to be test driven to make sure it was in good working order. This thing is a blast to drive. Simple controls on the remote help you get the hang of it quickly. Even the cats were curious and chasing the car.Put it back in the box so it didn't look like grandpa almost wore out the batteries. Her face lit up right away and was excited to start driving. The rotating front end took her a bit to master but was soon having fun.The car comes with some traffic cones. She put them out and proceeded to plow them across the room. Oh well. She has a lot of fun with this car!The car itself seems very resilient and well made. It took several smacks into the wall and didn't skip a beat. I highly recommend this car for the little ones.

Ordered this for my son’s 11th birthday. He enjoyed it for a short five minutes before the steering gave way and one of the axles fell out of the wheel completely after only driving in circles on a flat hardwood surface he is now bummed as all he can do is look at the box until the new one arrives from Amazon and we will give it another try.

This was super cool! Fast and fun. Steering broke less than 2 hours of play. Bummed out kid with broken gift.

We got what we thought was a great value RC car from JCPenney for Black Friday last year. My son got it for Christmas and was so excited. However, we quickly learned that the batteries would only last for about a day or two before we had to replace them. This lead to us buying rechargeable batteries for it, which worked for a while, but the drive time was still only about 30 total minutes before the batteries needed recharged. Then the car quit working. A mechanical engineer friend opened the car up and discovered that a motor inside had died, replaced that, and it worked for a few more weeks. Then the motors inside died again and this time we gave up fixing it.Enter this great little car! We got this on a recommendation from Altasonix and it has been awesome! It's going on a couple of weeks with one non-rechargeable set of batteries and has been more fun for my son to play with due to the funky front wheel that adds a lot of excitement to driving the car. We are VERY pleased with this new product and its great value!The only downside to the car is how small the remote is, but for little hands it works just fine. Both our sons have enjoyed playing with it, and we have enjoyed not having to worry about batteries every couple of days.

Easy to control for flipping, turning, forward and backwards. Our 3 year old twin grandsons are handling then great. My only complaint is that we purchased 2 in different colors so they could tell them apart and play together, however they are both on the same frequency. We cannot let them play together as they control each other's car. I honestly think we should have known this before we purchased as it's creating a major problem. I'm not returning as they love "their remote car" but it is a big problem.
