These newer Mosquito Magnets work & are worth the money
This is the second Magnet I have bought. The newer ones are much better than previous generations. They fire right up and do the job. Notes & a mini FAQ:*Do you have to change the propane tanks every 21 days? - Yes. The propane is fuel that generates the CO2 used to attract the skeeters.*Doesn't changing the propane get expensive? - Expensive is a relative term. Price a tank at the local stop & shop and see if your budget can support it.*It used to catch lots of skeeters & now it doesn't. - That's because once you break the cycle of mosquitoes breeding, there will be fewer of them to catch.*I'm using it but there are still mosquitoes biting me! - The Magnet is not a cure all. Have you cleaned your gutters? Raked up old leaves? Gotten rid of standing water? And what about your neighbors...if their gutters haven't been cleaned of old leaves in years, the mosquitoes are still going to keep breeding! And make sure you you use the correct lure for your area.*It only worked for "x" seasons! - These machines require maintenance. Make sure you use the CO2 cartridge to blow out the device each tank change. Have the machine serviced (each year is recommended, use the Googles for a place in Texas I use.)*I don't like seeing a propane tank just sitting out in the yard! - Get a tank cover. They're cheap, last several seasons, and are like $10.

When it lights is great, but rarely lights after 2nd tank, hand held zapper more affective
Don't trust 5 star reviews, probably fake or first tank owners. First one of these the unit only worked the single summer, never worked again, it was their executive model with no external power needed. It caught lots of mosquitos, just didn't work 2nd year. This model we bought after swearing never buy mosquito magnet again, but mosquitos are bad this year so we are taking a gamble that maybe will work next year too. Reading reviews from all on this company very few have any chance working following year, so will update this review next year to see if improvements have been made or not, update after first tank quite a few dead mosquitos, but new tank change. Getting fast blinking light and failing to start. Typically these fail after one season, hopefully it starts working after only a month else never again. They need smarter designers I think. Don't waste your money on this company, they have a very poor reputation for quality. Update poor value for the money. Bad design. Logic of gas circuit needs improvement. They'd be better off with a pilot lighter than rely on circuitry to check gas as it never stays lit. Lucky to get one or two tanks to work. Did everything recommended including co2 cleaner cartridges, but no. Mosquito Magnet is junk, save your money. Just junk unless you replace unit every year as it will not work 2nd year on guaranteed. Buy a hand held zapper and lay a white tarp down and you will 10 times as many as the mosquito magnet that probably was not lit anyway

Mosquito Magnet works!
The media could not be loaded. Incorporated as part of my no-seeums 2-year mitigation plan. Close to the swamps of Georgia and with a pond in the backyard, no-seeums, mosquitos, biting flies, and other vampiric insects are a part of life. One tool will not clear them out. Our no-seeums are in pure form this year... clouds of dive bombers half the size of fleas with a big bite that lasts. Bought the Mosquito Magnet as a declaration of war. The Dub-Ms bring the high C02 levels and attracting heat. I have a nearby zapper as a light attractant in case the bugs don't get pulled into the MM trap and one additional CO2 maker with DynaTrap (light, CO2). There is a noticeable difference. This is only part of the picture. Added fish to the pond that eat mosquito larvae (still need to add a fountain to help with aeration), looked for sitting water to dump out, and adding bat boxes in the future. While MM is not the silver bullet, it is a contributing participant in the dwindling population of no-seeums in my immediate area.Downsides - I can not tell if I have propane or not, so I have to buy a gauge. It costs more to run - it takes propane and electricity. Extra prep to distance from house (long small wire with unique connector; no battery/solar option).I dropped in a video of the no-seeums caught from 2 days of running. While there is noticeable less getting bit, we'll run it for the duration... through the summer and try to think the herd generation by generation. Worth it for us. Good luck!
