This is great pedal
Love this pedal! Many of the sounds I get out of this are sounds I like yet were hard to easily reproduce. They required efforts like reassembling my pedal and parallel processing. Doing that to get those sounds was okay messing around. But for gigging it was not practical to do that or buy duplicates of pedals. Now they’re just a foot press away. You can easily get usable sounds from this but if you spend more time with it it’s easily to get sounds you have never heard but also usable.

Outstanding adjustable trigger sensitivy and functionality but trebly
I bought this to replace my EHX SuperEgo so that I can trigger infinite sustain of any note I play on my guitar without having to amplify the guitar signal before the EHX and then choke it so the signal doesn't distort in my downstream multi-effects unit.The Layers pedal has adjustable trigger sensitivity and so much more. I'm going to put it on my pedalboard ASAP.The only caveat is that the sustained notes are boosted in the treble so that the signal can sound slightly brittle and bright.

A lot going on
The sheer number of features MXR was able to pack into this pedal is insane. I will admit it took more than I wanted time wise to find what I was looking for, but when I dialed it in it was amazing. Perfect if you’re fine with being more hands on to explore and dial in what you would like. The finish on pedal was also really cool.

Awesome pedal, seller (Chicago Music Exchange) did great packaging too
The media could not be loaded. The seller, Chicago music exchange, did a superb job packaging this. Many sellers throw it into a box and send it on its way but this seller seems to have spent the additional time and materials to better protect it in transit.Anyways, pedal itself is awesome. Mxr and nailed it with this one. I just wish they were presets and better live functionality, because when you turn it off and back on you have to go through all of the settings again. So if you are playing live you better remember all of your settings. I'll use it as a tool for recording though and after buying every reverb known to man it's nice to buy an ambient style pedal that's not labeled reverb!
