this book's superpower is making my son a reader!
we LOVE marcus emerson's books. my kids are 11, 13, 14.5, and 16. all of them enjoy the stories, laugh at the clever humor throughout, and can't wait for the next book to be released. they were excited for a new series to begin because all of our "diary of a sixth grade ninja", "secret agent sixth grader", and "recess warriors" books are dog-earred and well worn.from my 11 year old son (who is hard to get to sit down with a chapter book): "this is the best book ever! it's filled with fun surprises and i can't put it down. ben braver doesn't belong at the special school because he doesn't have superpowers...or does he? he tries to bring out his power in multiple different ways but doesn't succeed. i can't wait for the next book to see if ben finds his superpowers AND how his friends improve their superpowers!"we have only had this book for a few weeks and he has already read it twice! any author that can get my extremely active boy to sit down with something other than a comic book for more than ten minutes is SUPER. ;)

PODS? WORM-EATERS? RED EGGS? HUMPTY DUMPTY?
On about 250 pages, I see “worm-eaters”, “pods”, “eggs”? Oh my gosh! Is it … is it … is it “Invasion of the Body Snatchers!”? Is it the TERRIFIC 1956 movie with Kevin McCarthy and Dana Wynter? Well, the book “Super Life of Ben Braver” by Marcus Emerson was GREAT as well! (And it doesn’t even write the word “Invasion of the Body Snatchers!”)Here are some of the people: There’s Ben Braver (our hero) and Benzilla (a ten-story monster); Penny Plum (who loves her uke) and Evil Penny; Noah Nichols (superpower kid); Donald Kepler (a genius who was born in 1571 and he’s still ALIVE!); etc..[By the way, when I was 10 years old in Queens NYC in 1956, I saw 3 movies at a time. (I think it was 25¢.) I don’t remember the 2 of them, but the last 1 was “Invasion of the Body Snatchers!”, and I was scared! I didn’t even want to fall asleep. You might like this movie as well! But only for kids that are 11 and up.]

Read this booooooooooook!!!PLS!!!!!
This book was published 6 march 2018. I was the first to buy it on the day it was published. I have read ALL of Marcus Emerson's and Noah Child's books. I am bored most of the time because I have Read them ALL!!! I live in Armenia.(I got the book sooner than everybody else. I did not sleep until midnight so I could buy it)!!!!!! I wrote the review that day(at school and got sent to detension for reading in class). I don't know why but the review did not get published that day. It's a bumer that I have to wait on hole year to buy the second book.( I love it). I like the part when -------( no spoiling names) makes Ben's ---- twin, and the way Ben's face reacts!!!!!!!I highly recommend reading this book.-Daniel(the kindle is under my mom's acaunt).

Great Bedtime Novel
My 11 yr old son just could not get enough of the story and I have to admit neither could I. Can’t wait to dig into the sequel. It’s fun and hilarious, heart warming and mysterious. It’s absolutely not boring so pick it up and let Ben Braver rescue your bedtime story time too.

Five Stars
I bought this book for my daughter and was excited to see her enjoy it! She doesn’t always enjoy reading and I've honestly never seen her read like this. I usually have to “gently remind” her a dozen times to read at home but I only had to ask her ONCE with this book. I call that a win for me! She told me she LOVED the book and wanted to read more. I hope he has more coming out. So glad i bought this book for her! Definitely recommend!

An addictive read!!
My 8 year old son absolutely LOVED this book! So much so that I pre-ordered the next one (due in March) per his request. It was the first time we had to ask him to STOP reading ... unheard of!! Kudos to the author for writing on a subject young boys can really sink their teeth into!!!

Highly recommend!
Both of my boys (11 and 9 years old) couldn’t put the book down! I found my 9 year old up at midnight trying to finish the book...I couldn't get mad! My 11 year old can’t wait to donate his copy to his class when he’s done so his friends can read it too. So glad they found a series that they’re excited about.
