Fantastic 5G connectivity, great interface, easy setup.
I have only been using this for a few days, so I am yet to thoroughly test it but my initial thoughts are this is an outstanding MiFi device. Initial setup was quick and easy, the device is already unlocked to any network so the sim I am using was connected in a matter of seconds to its network. The device feels very well manufactured, I agree with other reviews that say it resembles an old iPhone 4 from an aesthetic and size perspective.l, it's a little larger than most MiFi devices hut this one offers 5G connectivity and a good battery life so I don't mind the trade off with it being bigger than most other devices that offer the same.So far the battery life seems good, I haven't tested it from 100% to empty yet, but plan to and will update my review to state how long it lasted and what devices were connected. The 5G connectivity is brilliant, I'm using an O2 network sim and it's very fast, I connected via MacBook, iPhone and iPad and all three ran through Web page loading extremely fast so I am confident that any good 5G network will work well with this device.Charging speed is pretty good via supplied USB C cable. The Web page for changing/updating the router settings is simple and easy to use.I have only one gripe; the USB C charging port is located at the bottom when you are holding the device, this would be great if Anvil made a charging dock for this router to sit on when not being portable, but from a desktop perspective I would have loved for it to be on top of the device so my desks cable management is better suited for it. It's the only negative I have right now.Whilst this is on the higher end of the price range for these devices, I think this is a fantastic one and would recommend it for anyone needing portable wifi daily, it's much more stable and reliable than tethering from your phones network. I will be updating my review in a month or so once I've given it more testing on my travels.I added an Apple magic mouse in the last photo to compare the size of the MiFi device.

Sensitive device with good stability and some minor usability niggles
This is a very imnpressive little device. Setup is straightforward, even if you have to dive to and from menus, and some features are in odd places such as the timeout. Timeout is pointless on a router as you have to go and find it to press the power button to wake it up, so I set mine to 'never' and it's on in the morning automatically. It defaults to a very small number of minutes. I guess that helps battery life. Talking of which, I didn't have any problems with that as I simply powered it from a 12v adapter as it is used in a leisure vehicle. The throughput is excellent and sustained; I was able to stream video while someone else was on the internet and both were handled with ease. It doesn't get too hot, it's nice and solid physically and electronically and appears to have good gain. There is no provision for an external aerial. It covers a wider range of wifi than is on the advert; it does support wifi 6. It has outputs on 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands but they can't be combined unfortunately so have to be set up individually and appear as two separate SSIDs to another device - it objects if you try to use the same SSID for both. One for a future software upgrade, please? The touch display is the other reason it loses a star - it is over sensitive and it's easy to select the wrong item on the menu or accidentally close it. The web interface solves that and works well.

Reliable 5G Connectivity on the Move
I recently picked up the Anvil HL-873 5G MiFi Router, and it's been a solid addition to my tech arsenal. As someone who's often on the move, having dependable internet is crucial, and this little device delivers just that.Setting it up was straightforward. The router connects to the network in under a minute, which is noticeably quicker than my previous 4G router. Even in areas with limited 5G coverage, I've seen my speeds jump from around 15Mbps to 35Mbps, which is a significant improvement. The design is sleek and portable, making it easy to carry around. Wi-Fi coverage is robust, and connecting multiple devices is a breeze. However, the battery life could be better. With four devices connected, I got about four hours of use, so it's worth keeping a charger handy during extended sessions. The user interface is intuitive, though the screen is a bit on the smaller side, which might be a tad fiddly for those with larger fingers. Also, the initial boot time is a bit slow, but once it's up and running, it performs admirably.Overall, the Anvil HL-873 is a reliable companion for anyone needing consistent internet access while travelling or working remotely. Just be mindful of the battery life, and you'll find it a valuable tool in staying connected on the go.
