It does work!
This neat little tool does work, it takes some practice and patience and you cannot use yarn thicker than worsted weight. I was expecting to be able to make I-chord at lightning speed (more or less), but you have to pay attention and make sure each stitch is catching the way it should. Even at that this is much faster than using a knitting spool by hand.
