Progress or one giant leap backwards?
It seems as though all successful software companies commit the ultimate crime by not looking after their faithful customers. Software should get cheaper as each upgrade is based ( in most cases ) on the original software, come on, they are not going to 're invent the wheel'. Its a well known fact that if the price is right you get more people buying the software and far less ripping it off. The problem is that once upon a time Adobe software was the industry standard because there was very little competition but now there is free software that will produce professional results and read, edit and save Adobe software files. I think they have just taken it too far and got too greedy. Oh! and just a point, when people say about owning the software instead of renting it I think you will find the only thing you own is the right to use the software and what ever medium it comes on. Go CorelDraw Photo-paint, it works for me and I have been a professional graphics designer for 35 years mainly on PC's.

Sensible not stupid!
It's actually the best way of always having the latest up to date version without paying for upgrades. I paid nearly £600 for CS6 now for a third of that yearly I can always have the latest version on 2 PCs all upgrades are free. The majority that moan probably never owned a legal copy I feel? You can still purchase CS6 if you don't want to pay yearly. You also get free web sites to upload your images with the very best quality I'm happy!

Shameless Ripoff
As if Adobe products wheren't overpriced allready, and almost unafordable for an average person or hobby photographer, now we can pay 200£+ a year for a software that we will never own. I know that Adobe is doing this because of piracy, but with this move will motivate even more people to just crack it. Really bad value for a single software, and as usual the people in UK have to pay a lot more than people in the US...

Amazing
This product gives me all I need and more! As a previous Elements user I always wanted to upgrade to the full Photoshop product but found the pricing out of my range. Now, with the ability to subscribe to this wonderful solution I can easily afford Photoshop! By being continually updated gives me peace of mind that I have the latest updates from Adobe. Photoshop is simply a wonderful product and continues to deliver!

No way
I have PS CS5 and have been a Photoshop user since PS3. Each time I bought an upgrade and enjoyed the progressively more intuitive features. Seems like its the end of the road as I'm not prepared to have software on the "never, never" in a cloud. So long,Adobe its been nice !!

Photoshop rental
I am pleased with the rental version of Photoshop and the current special offer available direct from Adobe (ends May 31st 2014) see the Adobe web site is very good price at £8.78 per month which if you think about it is little more than the cost of a bus fare once a week. The current offer at that price includes Lightroom 5, Bridge and space on their cloud server and upgrades as they are issued. Previously I used elements because as an amateur I couldn't afford to buy the full version of Photoshop. I can see why some people would prefer to buy Photoshop licence outright but that route does not suit everybody.

Bye Bye adobe, you've priced yourself out of yet ...
Bye Bye adobe, you've priced yourself out of yet another customer, other products out there that might not be in the same league 'yet' but I'm sure they'll now catch up especially with what must be a substantial number of loyal adobe photo shop uses not prepared to pay ridiculous money just to rent software for what is to many just a hobby....................

Continues to be the 'must have' imaging software
Most of the reviews I see here are about the pricing and ownership model rather than the core product itself which remains peerless.I personally appreciate the immediate updates and ongoing release of new functionality, that was always the constraint with the previous boxed software model which meant I had to wait 12-18 months before the new version was released. This is just the reality of the direction that the software industry is moving, I have the same subscription with MicroSoft, Splash ID, my security software etc. etc.I am already using the latest features that cam out at the beginningf the year for 3D printing and also the perspective warp which helps change the perspective within a shot. It's probably the coolest demo I have shown to my clients recently, they love it. If anyone wants to try it before you buy then you can get a free 30 day download on the Adobe website. In fact you can trial all the other apps too which is cool before you commit to the whole creative cloud package
