why is this half the price? Is it functionally the same as the $200 box?

I noticed the output level knob is tiny. Is turning that knob a pain?

Why have they included a pad that reduces the output volume by like 12db? Even maxed, this is unusable.

How do i get an xlr signal out of my daw? do i need another converter box for rca->xlr?
