Very bright - there's a high power mode that's not in the instructions (there are no instructions). Lightly press the button when it's turned on enables strobe with one push and extra bright mode with two pushes.

Fantastic flashlight for all occasions
2nd review of this product. It's dinky, discreet, and durable. Perfect for use during powercuts, coastal and woodland hikes or treks under cover of darkness, and general security purposes, or even as a flashlight for use during night hours when activating household lights might disturb others' slumber.The dispersal range is excellent for a device of this size, though my only gripe concerns the dispersal patterns; apparently the J5 can move to pulse and narrow field modes. I've yet to determine how to activate those, and the fact that it is delivered without any operating instructions, renders my ability to learn this function somewhat diminished. I'd recommend you check the best way to activate these functions online; perhaps You Tube might be helpful?

Best torch we have ever had and worth every penny
Fantastic for such a small torch. I got it for the Mr for when he goes out at night with the dog (black dog). He is now able to see her and the ball, no matter the weather. He likes how you can change the light settings and it's not fiddly like others he has used in the past. He also loves the army green colour and is thinking about getting a few more....one for his work bag and one each for the cars. Well recommended

Very good
The product is sturdy, well made, and very compact. The range, especially when focussed is very impressive. Personally I found it too fiddly. Three settings, the zoom combined to make it too complicated for my limited brain capacity. I like my torches simple. So, I was going to give it three stars, but really that would be unfair, as the problems are mainly to do with my own personal preferences for a torch. The one thing I thing is a general lack is a momentary on setting.
