Depends what you call short. It’s not cropped. It falls on me a few inches below the waist line. I’m 5’3” and short waisted.

It does not have a built-in bra. It has a second layer of fabric underneath the outer one. The liner is not the full length of the outer layer, but a nice length -- approximately to the waist. It just gives more body to the chemise. There is enough fabric at the top of the shoulders to cover most bra straps. It covered mine just fine. Lovely chemise, perfect for my needs. I wore it underneath a lightweight satiny jacket (similar to a short kimono). The color was lush (mine was a rich gold color) and as advertised. The fit was good.

What is the exact length? I will be wearing it under a formal jacket that hits at the hips.

From shoulder to bottom is 26”. From V neck the length is 18” from bottom of V neck to bottom of the garment. Very nice top you will be pleased
