Q: How can this be bad to breathe in, yet you are able to drink it?

This is a misunderstanding about food grade DE. There are 2 kinds of DE—food grade and filter grade (used in swimming pool and other filters) Only the filter grade is dangerous to breathe. The “dangerous” part of DE is the amount of crystalline silica that is in it. Filter grade is 65% crystalline silica while food grade is less than 1/10 of 1%! The world health org. has said that diatomaceous earth is safe to breathe as long as the crystalline content is under 2%. Food grade is 20X lower than even that level.

Q: I plan to consume this DE for health purposes, including to kill parasites. Will it also kill my beneficial bacteria?

It will kill parasites. I don't believe it affects bacteria at all. It is very drying so drink plenty of water. YouTube has numerous videos for consuming diatomaceous earth.

Q: Does this brand of DE leave black/gray residue on the bottom of the glass when mixed with water?

You know this brand does not leave much of a reside at all really. I spoon into a glass, add water stir up really well and drink immediately. There may be a tiny, tiny bit of residue, but very small and it was not gray or black, I'd say that little bit of grit that I saw was more of a brown like color. Again though its so tiny and giving another stir and drinking there is no residue left all. Hope that helps.

Q: Any luck on this getting rid of pantry moths?

I had an infestation of pantry moths last summer (2017). I cleaned everything out of my pantry, washed all of the shelves and replaced everything. I didn't see any moths for over 3 months. This January, I saw a couple of moths. I panicked because it was an ordeal to clean out the pantry. I dusted diatomaceous earth all over my whole pantry and I have not seen a moth since. I am hoping this got rid of them for good!
