Incredibly Tiny, Deceptively Fast - My Go-To Drive for Large Files
I needed a high-capacity flash drive that I could leave plugged into my laptop without it sticking out and risking being snapped off. The SanDisk Ultra Fit is famous for its tiny, low-profile design, and this 512GB model was the perfect "plug-and-forget" solution I was looking for.Real-World Speed & PerformanceFor a drive this small, the performance is impressive. While it's not going to match an external SSD, it's incredibly fast for a flash drive. I regularly use it to move large game installation folders and video files between my desktop PC and my laptop. I was able to transfer a 20GB folder in just a couple of minutes, which is fantastic. For smaller files, it's nearly instant. My Primary Uses & UsabilityThis drive's versatility is its biggest strength. It's become my go-to for a few key tasks:Semi-Permanent Laptop Storage: I leave it plugged into my laptop to carry files I need on the go, effectively expanding its storage without a bulky external drive.PC Building & Maintenance: It's the perfect drive for flashing motherboard BIOS updates on my PC builds.Media Playback: I load it up with movies and TV shows to plug directly into my smart TV's USB port. It handles 4K playback without any issues.A Note on Build and HeatThe two most common concerns with this drive are its plastic build and the heat it generates. Yes, the all-plastic construction feels a bit delicate, so I wouldn't recommend putting it on a keychain that gets tossed around a lot. And it does get quite warm during long, sustained file transfers—that's normal for a drive this compact and fast. In my experience, it has never been hot enough to cause concern or impact performance.Final Verdict: The Best Low-Profile Drive Out ThereIf you need a massive amount of storage in the smallest possible package, the SanDisk Ultra Fit is the undisputed champion. It's perfect for expanding laptop storage, for use in car stereos, or for anyone who needs a reliable, high-speed drive that stays out of the way. The convenience and performance it offers are well worth it.

Very Small and Unobtusive
I have a number of these units in varying sizes. All continue to work well. My primary usage is near line backups (encrypted with third party software), so it is not as fast I had hoped. I suspect that is as much the encryption overhead, the laptop(s), and the design of the devices.I've always had very good luck with SanDisk devices of all types and highly recommend them as quality units. Some are over 10 yrs old and continue to work well.

Compact and functional storage
I purchased for use with Blink system. Device fits nicely and doesn’t stick out from the body of the Sync module. Meets storage needs and worked out of the package

Good Value
I've been using the SanDisk Ultra Fit 128GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive for a few years now, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance and convenience. The drive's compact design is a standout feature—about the size of a wireless mouse receiver—which makes it incredibly discreet and perfect for leaving plugged into a laptop, car stereo, or smart TV without sticking out or getting in the way. Its sturdy build ensures it can handle daily use, and the plug-and-play capability means it worked instantly on both my Windows PC and LaptopThe transfer speeds are solid, averaging around 130 MB/s read speeds, thanks to USB 3.1, enabling quick movement of large files. The 128GB capacity offers plenty of space for documents, movies, and media backups, making it ideal for on-the-go storage needs. However, a couple of minor points to consider: during heavy use or large transfers, the drive can get warm, but it hasn't impacted its performance or durability. Also, because of its tiny size, it’s easy to misplace—adding a keychain loop or some form of attachment could be helpful. Despite that, it's a small trade-off for such a high-capacity, high-speed device.Overall, I highly recommend the SanDisk Ultra Fit for anyone seeking a reliable, portable, and fast USB drive. Just be mindful of its small size, and you'll have a fantastic storage companion at a great value

Mediocre write performance
Great price for 512GB, but performance is really mediocre at best. Write performance does burst immediately to 120-140MB/s, then slows to a sustained 80MB/s. Anyone else testing this and posting faster write performance probably is testing incorrectly. I purchased this for a home lab server to dump VM backups to locally without having them be on the local drive or having to push them over the network. Seems to work fine, although not very fast. The compact nature of this is nice so it doesn't cause problems when working around the device. For the price, I'm happy, although I may have opt'd for something a bit faster if the write performance had been known.

Lots of storage, Works good
I have 3 of these now. They are slower than a SSD drive but they hold a lot of data.

Great Low-Profile Flash Drive!
Its diminutive size makes it incredibly versatile and ideal for many applications. I keep one plugged into my laptop and one in my printer for backups. I have not experienced any issue with the continuously plugged-in flash drives catching on anything due to its small profile. As with most electronic items these days, the housing is only plastic but it’s not expected to hold a load so it’s acceptable. I’ve used SanDisk products since the initial onset of flash drives and I’ve never experienced a device failure. If you need a flash drive with a diminutive profile then I recommend this product without reservation!
