MINISFORUM DEG1 Docking Station,Oculink 4i(PCIe4.0x4), with Force Power On, Support ATX/SFX Power Supply

Buying this was an informed decision. DEG1 caught my eye because it's so much cheaper than a lot of the others out there, but has bunch of good reviews. The design is simple and to the point - it’s a barebones, open-air dock that's basically just a bracket for your GPU and PSU (which obviously needs to be bought separately). Well built, its not a plastic toy but aluminium body. It all works with OCuLink, which is a lot quicker than Thunderbolt or USB4. I was able to pair it with my Minisforum MS-A2 and AI-X1-Pro and it consistently pushes more bandwidth than usb4/Thunderbolt. It's brill for gaming and other demanding tasks like video editing. With a mid-tier card, I'm getting desktop-level performance, running 'triple-A' games in 2K/4K in high or ultra settings and getting pretty much high fps rates. For what it does its a really good value. Honestly, my only regret is not picking one up ages ago. Recommended.

It works as intended, it holds the PSU and Gpu together firmly, I didn't follow any instructions as I think it is very straightforward.

An incredible piece of kit. Runs my 3090 flawlessly. Connected it to a minisforum ms01 using a PCI oculink card. In idle the ms01 uses the equivalent of a light bulb, which this device uses less (19w). Runs Ollama models perfectly and i havent noticed performance loss.

It is well packaged and secured in the box, waiting on delivery from AliExpress to receive a Nucbox K8 plus with 96 GB ram and 4 tb SSD. Hoping all works great.Product deserves more reviews for a great price and prime delivery.

Ignore the earliest review. A cursory glance across the info on the internet relating to this cool piece of tech will help to give you an understanding of how the DEG1 works. It isn't rocket science folks! Incidentally, the earliest review refers to the DEG1 as a "piece of plastic", which is pure BS! The entire case is metal and has considerable strength all round.If your mini-pc has an oculus port (my superb Minisforum UM780XTX has one) or you are able to fit one of the many available oculink cards to your mini-PC, then you should be fine.In addition to the DEG1, I also mounted a Coolermaster SFX power supply to power an Nvidia 4060ti graphics card. A suitably powerful ATX power supply will be fine for this purpose, but bigger of course. There are screws to secure the power supply to the DEG1 and a bracket to secure the graphics card to the power supply. All pretty sturdy. Finally, I used the supplied oculink cable to connect the DEG1 to my UM780XTX mini-pc oculink port and was good to go.There was a massive improvement over the internal AMD mobile graphics chip, as confirmed by many specs posted online. Just remember to follow the supplied instructions and other info on the net and you'll be fine.
