I volun-told my son to do a trunk for our church's Trunk or Treat, so he elected for a pirate theme. This kit made a good starting point. The decorations are light to medium weight plastic and quite flexible. They definitely do not stand up without being attached to something. We weren't quite sure about putting the included tape on auto paint (although I think it probably would have been okay) so we cut some magnetic adhesive sheets to stick to the metal parts of the car. For the rest of the decorations I used the sticky tape on non-metal parts. We ended up taping two of the decorations to wrapped boxes so that they would stand up. He is a bit of a minimalist, so adding lights was about all I could get him to do, but some balloons or other decorations could dress it up a bit. He wanted to use his footlocker to hold the candy, so that took up a lot of room that could be used for other decorations as well.
