specification info said 40w bulb also said 28w bulb on description which is correct?

It is supplied with a 28W ECO bulb which is the equivalent to 40W. The fitting will accept up to 40W G9.

Is the attachment to ceiling hollow as I’ve many cables that need connecting

Hi Alan The chrome backing box is hollow and there is a reasonable amount of space in it. Part of which is taken up by an internal wire and connector. Box is secured to the ceiling by three screws on a detachable backing plate eventually held in place by two chromed grub screws on the side of the backing box. Hope that helps.
