Board for Dometic fridge (absorption) - aftermarket
This is a Dometic fridge main board for most models. It comes with the case and cover as well. I have replaced a lot of these. This looks like a standard aftermarket copy of the OEM board.I put it in my Dometic test bench setup and it worked fine. It also communicated with the safety circuit and the eyebrow board assemblies. Can't speak to long-term longevity, but out of the box, it worked as expected.Installation is easy on these things. Just a few screws and a wires to transfer over. Make sure you take a few pics and put the wires back where they came from and you'll do fine. The key is knowing when you need a new board. That is too much info for this review. But this board will do.Overall, the board is not quite as pretty as the OEM. It has some conformal coating, but it is just brushed on and a little spotty. Worse, they accidentally dripped it and glued my fuse cover (which I am not used to seeing) to the fuse housing. I had to cut it to get the cover off the fuse. All connectors (7 blade type at bottom of board, plus the 2-pin (thermistor), 4-pin (gas valve) and 6-pin (eyebrow) Molex connectors are firmly attached to the board and should be fine. ignitor connector is full shrouded on the tower, so you should not break it off (but it is vertical off the board, instead of out the side - should not be an issue, unless someone already shortened the ignitor wire to a minimum).Would I use it? As a Certified RV Tech, I would use for my own use every time. I'm fine with troubleshooting and repairing. Would I offer to a customer with a warranty like the OEM part. Nope. This one is running my fridge in my cargo trailer and if it fails, I can fix it again. The big draw is that these aftermarket assemblies are typically about a third of the OEM part cost. You have to make the determination if that is something you deem value, or risk. YMMV.

Not sure if this is a good part or not
This part did not work to fix my RV fridge. After a tech tested to make sure the board was bad, I ordered this part at his direction. However, once installed, the fridge still did not work. The tech tested everything multiple times, called the manufacturer, called other RV techs, and they all said the same thing, this part should have fixed the problem. The old board was obviously bad, you could see the bad section in the board, but no one can figure out why this part did not fix it. So was it a bad part? Not sure, but I can't give it 5 stars since my fridge still doesn't work. I cut my losses and installed a residential electric fridge, so I will never know, but I couldn't keep throwing parts and money at it.
