Don't bother with this item (updated)
There are some issues with MY unit which PetTrackie can’t seem to iron out, but overall this tracker does its job very well and its certainly worth considering if you’re looking for such a device. For how it performs and the monthly connection charge it’s a bargain and I can’t fault the customer service from WatchOvers.Good points:- It’s easy to set up and subscribe to the monthly connection plan which is up and running within minutes. The GPS tracking is certainly accurate enough to locate or follow your pets’ adventures. The unit itself is small and light and comes with an easy fit rubber case that attaches to the collar or harness. It’s waterproof if your pet likes the local stream. The App is easy to use and has some useful features. Its easy to turn on and off, turned on via a button on the unit and off via the App. Both on and off commands are confirmed via a voice transmitted from the unit. When turning off the trackie, you get the option to program it to turn back on at a set time, useful if you have someone else minding your pet for part of a day I guess.Negative points:- As stated by others, the battery life is poor. It needs charging each evening which is carried out via your mobile phone charger i.e. it comes with a dedicated short USB lead. The App does tell you how much battery power is left but it certainly doesn’t last the two days WatchOvers state! Battery life can be extended if you use manual tracking where you use the App to request the latest position, whereas auto mode is updating the position every minute. Auto is useful as you get a Google Earth map of exactly where the pet has been. You can set a number of Geo-Fence areas, areas where you would allow the pet to wonder within but don’t want exceeding, but the smallest area is 500 mtrs which I consider to be too large an area as your pet will be quite some distance before you are alerted. WatchOvers state the unit will work worldwide but also state it will work in temperatures up to 20 degrees (68f) which if correct rules out anywhere like Spain??Faults on MY unit:- The ‘warnings’ part of the App doesn’t work!, I should get a banner appear on the mobile screen and a sound alert when the Geo-fence area has been breached and also when the battery is getting low on the unit. The Geo-Fence feature doesn’t concern me as I can’t see me using this, but the low battery warning would be nice considering its limited life, I can check its life in the App though so it’s not a real issue. Finally, my unit turned its self on in the middle of the night which I hope was just a glitch, it certainly wasn’t programmed to turn on!Overall it’s a bargain for some piece of mind and if yours works fully then all the better. If the battery capacity could be improved without increasing the size then I would upgrade immediately.Update 23/05/19Don't bother with this product. The tracker was exchanged for another one and its worse!! It's constantly turning it's self back on so when i come to use it its almost out of battery! Its turning back on in the night mostly. It can be set to do this in the settings but mine definitely isn't set to do that and its bloody annoying. I will use it in Spain until i know our property is escape proof and then stop paying the monthly subscription.

Completely useless!
We recently adopted a rescue dog and purchase this as we'd like to take him over the local country park. The aim was to train him off the lead and use this as a back-up if he ran off. After receiving the item I followed the instructions to scan the QR code which would take me to their web site with the user manual. After scanning the code I was taken to a 'page not found' link on their web site. So, I attempted to navigate to the site by typing in the address watchovers.com/pt which unfortunately returned 'page not found'. Being quite savvy with technology, I went ahead and followed the app instructions to set up the tracker. I followed the instructions until the point of entering the contact number on the card provided. The following screen returned an error message 'Invalid CID, can not add'. I double checked the CID and even entered the code rather than using the QR reader. Both resulted in the same error message.Being unable to proceed any further with the app and knowing the user manual was unavailable, I decided to go to their 'contact us' page on their web site. When attempting to call the international number provided (at my own expense), I received a discontinued dial tone. With an error message and no one to contact, I will be returning this item to Amazon for a full refund and will try and different tracker. It's a shame as we were really looking forward to using this over the nice bank holiday weekend.

Good product, battery life not so much
The product was relatively simple to set up. The app is easy to use and can have more than one app for the collar, great for myself and my partner to keep an eye on our cat.My cat is a medium to large cat and the size of the tracker is fine on him though if you've a small cat steer clear. The battery is eaten up real fast if you have it set to update itself but you can change it which safes the battery a little. Realistically it needs charging every 2~3 days. I got it after my cat went missing and its a piece of mind to know where he is, especially since I live with other people who might let him out.

Shame about the battery life
Update:- have been using this for a couple of months. The tracker itself works really well even in my poor mobile signal area. The problem is the battery life. On the continuous update mode mine only lasts 24hrs. Great if you only want to see what yr pet gets up to but not so good if it goes missing. I can not fault the customer service though. They have been very very helpful with all my questions. On low power mode I would probably get a couple of days. The only time my cat did disappear the battery ran out- luckily he came home a few days later.Have only had this a couple of days but it is my new obsession! Bought for my cat who returned from a month wandering and it is addictive- fascinating where they go. Bought a Kippy first which did t work for me at all. Great quality product but also superb customer service- easily contacted on live chat!! Brilliant! Need to get one for my other cat now.

A good sturdy GPS pet tracker
It works quite well - a weird set up, but works fineQuite chunky - Battery life is about 24 hours.Beware though, I started hearing this weird 'Boop' noise one evening, and was searching around the house. Didnt realise it was the GPS device with a low battery warning. Was checking smoke alarms, my kids phones etc - lol

Doesnt work!
Doesnt hold charge very well , now that I finally got it to charge, it doesnt turn off! The location is also wrong so if i want to track my cat , i know shes somewhere within 500m of where the tracker says it is
