This works as advertised. It is sturdy and has a good long cord. It puts off a great deal of sparks so if you have any kind of material that will catch from sparks it puts out the most of anything i've used. It is reasonably priced and does a good job.

The rod is a nice length, and the girth is perfect. This is my 2nd favorite rod!

I have owned other ferro rods over the years, but these work just as well. It's big enough to get a good hold on it and it creates a lot of sparks. The paracord is good quality. The little whistle is more of a toy, but it does make noise. Who knows how man strikes you'll get but It's still a good value for the cost.

Works Great

The attached whistle is a little chintzy and doesn’t really work but the rod and multi tool are solid. Get a good spark from it, which is all I was looking for from a back up.

This is a very neat-nice tool to have around for starting fires, can create your own fire starter for tinder, always know must have nice dry materials --tinder to start a campfire.,Very thick, durable, easily handled, creates nice sparks kinda like a sparkler, one could drill a hole in a deer horn and epoxy it in, make sure you wear a dust mask, can do outside as well! with heavy leather cord. Really cool item!!

got my fire starter today, now wont have to carry lighter where ever i go. works great.
