Mmmmm, lovely, slippery, great consistency....very nice!!!!
Great Nuru massage powder for gel massages. This is a fantastic product, if you like slippery, messy massages. Do look it up if you aren't familiar with the type of massage it is used for as it is somewhat different and you need a comparatively large quantity of the product (and a suitable environment/waterproof sheets etc) to achieve the desired result. The powdered product you make up yourself is therefore far preferable than buying the stuff premixed, is a nice ritual preamble to the massage itself (as it takes about 20mins for the gel to properly form) and is an economical way of making enough for an evening, you can also make adjustments to achieve your desired consistency and a top tip is to have some warm water available in a flask to add to events if things start to dry up a little. This feels great on the skin, and is a totally different experience to an oil massage. It can be showered off, leaving a nice soft feel to your skin afterwards. It caused no problems for my partners sensitive skin, though given the amount of exposure to the product a patch test of the type used for hair dye might be advisable before first use. There is no unpleasant aroma which sets this apart from some other brands . Do note that though tasteless, this is not meant to be an edible gel as such. The powder is easily stored in the resealable package. This small package should last you a little while as you need just a couple of teaspoon for about a litre of water which should be sufficient to see you through an evening.

Great Value and Long Lasting Despite the Price
This massage gel powder surprised me with how well it worked. I was not sure what to expect for the price, but the experience turned out to be quite different from anything I had tried before. You only need a very small amount, about one teaspoon per 500ml of warm water, and that produces far more gel than you might imagine. I used water that was a little too hot at first, which may have delayed the thickening. After stirring well and waiting ten to fifteen minutes, the gel formed nicely. It becomes extremely slippery, very smooth, and genuinely colourless and odourless. If there was any scent at all, it was extremely subtle. I did not notice anything. So, no artificial fragrance like some massage products. You won't end up smelling of strawberries or bananas with this. It is also not sticky or greasy at all. It leaves the skin feeling soft, which I imagine is helped by the aloe and seaweed extracts. The formula is vegan and free from parabens and glycerine. It is worth noting that it can be messy. While they claim it won't stain, and I certainly didn't notice any staining problems, it will still soak into fabric and leave things wet. Depending on where you use it, you may want to change the sheets afterwards or put down towels. It is incredibly slippery and covers a large surface area. I found that using a small amount was more than enough. The powder stores well in its resealable sachet, but it is important to seal it completely and keep it dry. The 50g size might sound expensive, but as you use so little at a time, it will last for ages. Compared to premixed gels and massage oils, it ends up being much better value. I would suggest only mixing what you need each time.Whether you use it for a standard massage or something a little more adventurous, it gives a pleasant experience and leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated. As for whether to rinse it off afterwards, I would say yes, unless you fall asleep first. Although it is not sticky, it does leave a slick feeling that you might prefer to wash off with a warm shower. But it will dry naturally if you fall asleep. This is a well-made and rather unusual product that I had not come across before. It is easy to use, just remember to mix it properly, allow time for it to thicken, and do not use too much water. It really does go a long way and feels very different from anything else I have tried.

Brings adventure to your massage
When I ordered this, I hadn’t fully understood what it is intended for, so when I looked up Japanese Nuru, and showed it to my wife, she found it rather amusing. You can just use it for a normal massage though, and it is still a very pleasant experience. It takes a while to mix and settle, so forget this being ready in 30 seconds. You don’t need the whole sachet, not even close. One teaspoon is enough for 500ml mixed with warm water, and let’s just say that would go far enough to cover two bodies. There is no aroma, but it sure does feel good with the mix of seaweed, aloe vera, liquorice, and green tea. It’s important to seal the sachet after use to keep it fresh. Alternative options are available. One point worth adding is that it is very slippery and goes everywhere.

Really horrible stuff.
I was really looking forward to trying this massage gel mix and wanted to add essential oils to create a unique oil to massage into my legs. How disappointing it turned out to be. It's awful. It becomes lumpy so I added more water, it was less lumpy but still a thick slime rather than a gel. I added yet more water but it just remained a thick, gloop of ick. I tried to massage some into my arms and legs but it was so sticky and unpleasant. I wet my hands to try to wash it off and it became a little more lubricant but still sticky.I gave up and disposed of it into my sink expecting it to swill down but it just stuck to the bottom of the sink in a lump of goo that wasn't going anywhere until I booked the kettle and flushed it with boiled water down the plughole, now I wish I'd just put it into the bin in case it causes blockage problems.I cannot recommend this product, in fact I suggest avoiding it. A great idea but performance is dire.
