Amazing budget GPU
I build PCs to order for friends, family and work colleagues. I had an order that requested an RTX 4060 GPU from a colleague and I persuaded him this was a better option. I wasn't wrong and he's chuffed to bits with what he got for his money.

Testing great, but...
This card is testing great right now, with performance similar to the rtx4060. Well done Intel. However, the rrp for this gpu is 250usd. At £379 it's almost double that rrp and does not represent the same value as it does in the USA, my advice is to hold off until the price reflects it's rrp, or the competition releases their new generation early next year.

The best card £300 can buy!
The best £300ish card you can buy! I can't believe this is only Intel's second attempt at the gpu market because the b580 is another level compared to the A series! This card beats the 4060 from Nvidia and the 7600 from AMD so it's the king of entry level pc gaming

This is the best budget GPU…
Running black ops 6 at ~180 FPS in 1080p and 80-90 FPS in 1440p - perfect if you don’t want to spend a fortune!

Disappointing Experience - Major Compatibility & Unstated Issues
I purchased the SPARKLE Intel Arc B580 TITAN OC 12GB Graphics Card with high hopes for a modern gaming experience, but unfortunately, it has been a source of continuous frustration. My system uses an MSI Z490 motherboard with Windows 11 (clean install, GPT/UEFI configuration), and while the card works after a full shutdown, it consistently failed to restart, resulting in a black screen. This required a hard shutdown and power-on every time. I went through extensive troubleshooting steps, including:- Multiple driver reinstallations using DDU.- Updating BIOS and chipset drivers.- Testing Resizable BAR (enabled/disabled).- Verifying PSU (750W Gold 80 Plus) and power cables.- Checking Windows Fast Boot/Fast Startup settings.- Consulting Event Viewer logs. After an initial return to the retailer (where "no fault was found" ), and further direct communication with Sparkle's FAE (Field Application Engineer), I discovered that the only way to "fix" the black screen on restart was to disable Windows Fast Startup entirely. This is an unacceptable workaround for a current-generation graphics card, as no other GPU I've owned required such a compromise.Even more critically, a major unstated limitation has emerged:- Intel Arc graphics cards, including this A580, do not officially support Meta VR headsets (e.g., Quest 2/3) for PC VR via Link or Air Link. This means a significant portion of the VR gaming ecosystem on platforms like SteamVR is inaccessible with this card. As a consumer purchasing a "gaming graphics card," this fundamental incompatibility should have been clearly disclosed by both the manufacturer and the retailer.I have tested four other graphics cards from different manufacturers on my system, and none exhibited these restart issues or VR compatibility problems. While the card may technically "work" in certain scenarios, its undisclosed limitations regarding VR support and the necessary workaround for basic restart functionality make it unsuitable for its advertised purpose. This product does not meet the expectations for a modern gaming GPU, and these issues caused significant inconvenience and wasted time.I would strongly advise potential buyers to research compatibility thoroughly before purchasing any Intel Arc GPU, particularly if VR or seamless system operation is important to them.
