The media could not be loaded. I purchased this mainly because people were having trouble hearing me when I spoke directly into my radio. This mic does appear to be of higher quality than those installed in the UV-5R. Using this shoulder mic I get far fewer complaints of being unreadable.I also enjoy that I can talk into my radio without pulling it off of my belt or out of the cup holder.Overall the durability seems good, I have not taken this mic into the back woods or through a swamp yet but it has seen some light rain, cold, and heat.The price is a bit steep when compared to other shoulder mics, however, I was looking to improve my transmission quality and clarity not just to have the convenience of a shoulder mic. Yes I know this cost more than the radio itself, however, I think it made my radio significantly better and more usable. Plus I have a feeling that this mic will outlast all of my radios so I think it is worth the price.I attached a video of me running my UV-5R through my Retevis RT97, I made transmissions using the mic and not using the mic. This was not a scientific test by any means, no measurements were taken during these transmissions. Personally I feel my transmissions came across slightly louder and slightly crisper through the mic, but you can listen and decide for yourself.Either way I’m happy with mic and I’m sure it will last awhile.

Is the OEM unit. Cord is really nice, longer than anticipated. Strain relief seems likes it wouldn't crack, unlike the motorola PMMN series overtime would. Weaved with a lot of Kevlar. Cord is not as thick as the multi pin kenwoods, but really nice for the 2 pin radios. Highly recommended. Would like ro see a noise canceling version though.

Love it. I consistently receive excellent reports on my voice quality on every radio I've tried it on. And they do seem to reduce the external noise around you. Kenwood voice quality is definitely a known thing, and these have it.I've been through quite a few lower end mics and they are just that, lower end. This is one of the areas you get what you pay for. These are not a cheap mic in any way. VERY durable and well worth the money. When it gets stolen, (I doubt it will break) I'll be buying another ASAP. No cons here, just buy it and forget the rest.

These are great, well built and sound just like the main speaker in the handset.

Stopped working after 5 months.

There are thousands of cheep knockoff speaker mics. Just pony up the cash and get this real one and you won’t be sorry. The audio and build quality is far superior to all of those cheep mics being sold.

Its Kenwood. They all work fine. Wish they didn't jack the price up so much for no reason.

Showed up 2weeks after the promised date. Mic is what you would expect.
