Well engineered, I'm sure it will last.
I am reviewing the coarse version of this product that I am using to shape acrylic. The item came well packaged, in a push lid box. Protecting it from damage and acting as a useful stand while you ready your tool. The first thing that struck me is the weight of this, which absolutely backs up the seller's listing stating tungsten carbide manufacture. The density is there. The coating is even over all the cutting surfaces. (I believe the blue coatings are ultra-thin ceramics to increase tool life). The shaft of the bit fits nicely into the appropriate sized collet (or close metric equivalent) of the nail tool/ multi tool, and it span true at all speeds tested, no vibration. The tool's cutting surfaces are bidirectional, something I know that is important to some people's work flow on nails and their preferences when using these tools.I found it cut away material very easily, of course some of this depends on the torque of your hand tool but it is also very dependent on the drill bit, this didn't struggle at all, even when I was rounding the corners of some 3mm acrylic sheets, which is far more than any acrylic nail as a test of capability. This isn't a cheap tool by any means and given that it is made of carbide with a long life coating the question the purchaser will be asking is , will the extended life of the tool justify the cost?As an engineer and maker my feelings are yes, it does. Quality is generally worth extra. But it is a calculation that users will make for themselves.

Quite aggressive
I aim to tell the absolute truth on all my reviews, be they Vine reviews such as this one or for things I buy. So I'm going to admit, I made a mistake - I misread the description and didn't mean to order this 'Akylin Carbide Nail Drill Bit - Coarse'. I thought it was a nail grinding bit for my Dremel and for metal nails not the fingertip ones!So my next stop was my mate, who's wife runs a nail boutique from home. She tested it for me while I waited, cup of tea in hand. Her comments are as follows - she said it's a bit coarser than she would normally use, and is quite aggressive compared to the medium and fine bits she tends to stick with. It felt perfectly balanced in her drill and there was no heat generated in action. At a price of £19.99 she was a little surprised as this is around the same price she pays for her bits from her Pro nail supplier. The second thing I did was try and fit it into my Dremel - it does fit with a collet and can grind into acrylic sheet pretty well. It it is great for little trim jobs where you want to tidy up after cutting acrylic - so this is what i will keep it for now.All in all it is a versatile bit - it certainly appears to be decent quality and showed no signs of wear after the 2 tests I did. Pricewise it is 'OK' but certainly not cheap.

Carbide Nail Drill Bit
I was expecting they had made an error and that there would be the set of three carbide bits supplied for the cost but no, only 1 arrived. It came in a protective case, fits the nail drill machine fine and does what carbide drill bits do, it removes the hard gel. With the best will in the world I cant see how I can say this is value for money when compared to others.

Excellent for extension and biab removal
Excellent for gel removal and makes quick work of debulking and removing loose matieral. The finer grit at the top is kinder towards your cuticle but I will say that balancing between the two parts of the bit and different grits takes some practice. I wouldn't recommend this bit for beginners.I found after removing a decent amount of product from one hand, I needed to dust off the bit before doing my next hand. The bit fits onto both of my e-drills with no issues.

Great drill bit
Drill bit is medium. Works in forward or reverse mode and easily removes product from the nail whether you are using the top of the nail bit near the tip of the cone or right at the bottom of the base of the cone.It comes in a little plastic container which is labelled so you always know which drill bit it is inside. Also has a blue band, depicting that it's medium. Shank fits into 3 different drills, so should work in any standards of nail drills.

Good quality bit, safe around cuticles
This is a good quality nail drill bit, this is the feedback that I got from my wife who runs a beauty saloon. They get the job done quickly and efficiently and judging by the quality of craftsmanship they should last longer than the average bits that you can buy in bulk. My wife was very happy with the fact that the end of the bit is rounded which makes is much safer to work around the cuticles.
