Comfortable and Easy to Use!
These poles are great! Having hiked for 10 years, my poles needed to be replaced and these totally fit the bill! The grips are incredibly comfortable, the poles are sturdy and easy to adjust. All the needed tips came with the poles and everything fit in the carrying bag. They are a great value for the cost!!

Compact, sturdy, and look good as well.
I already had a pair of trekking poles that I love, but they only telescope down to 29 inches, which won't fit in my regularly-used travel bag, so I wanted another pair for travel that would fit. These are awesome! They're compact when folded, and I can adjust them to exactly the right height for my needs. Plus they look really good (I love the purple color).I'd never used folding poles before, so there was a slight learning curve at first to opening, then closing them. I was initially frustrated that I wasn't getting it right and I knew within reason I was just missing some step even though I thought I was following the written instructions to the letter. So I finally loaded up the video and, voila! The mystery was solved and, as I suspected, they're extremely easy and quick to both open and fold. Can't wait to take them on my trip to the Ozarks at the end of April!

Perfect walking/hiking poles for touring/hiking and OUTSTANDING customer service
Bought 2 sets in January, 2021 -1 short and 1 long - and both work great. Just follow the instructions and pull the section out of the handle until the locking ball clicks into place. That was the trickiest part since there's some resistance (as there should be) to the extension of that part of the poles, but when you get that done, it's easy. Everything works as advertised, and they are steady, durable poles. The handles seem to be cork, and the poles are well made. I really like that they fold up to a short package that I can put in my day pack for traveling in Europe. When folded up, they are out of the way and unobtrusive when not being used, but are always available & handy when I need them. In short, these are great poles and a great value. No hesitation on recommending these poles.UPDATE: 7-4-21As noted above, I bought 2 sets of poles - 1 short and 1 long. Well, I realized before using them that I had made a mistake in purchasing a long set of poles - they really didn't fit me. So, 6 months after purchasing them I sent an email directly to High Stream Gear (since it was well outside of Amazon's return window) asking if I could exchange my unused long poles for a set of short ones. Lo & behold I received an answer from Karl, the Customer Service Manager, telling me that he would be happy to help me, and he gave me precise instructions on how to make the exchange. So, I packed up the long ones, shipped them back to the address he gave me, and shortly thereafter I received a set of short poles. Throughout this process, Karl was in regular contact with me to obtain the tracking information from me on the shipment, then to advise me that they had shipped the replacement poles and provided me with the tracking info, then to let me know they had received my shipment to them, and finally to ask if I had received the poles they shipped and whether they were suitable for me. That's spectacular customer service to go along with an outstanding product. I have no hesitation on recommending both the product and the company to anyone who wants to do business with a company that cares about their products and their customers. Well done, Karl and High Stream Gear!!

Great poles for the Money, Great follow-up service, Slight edge over Nianyiso Poles
This review is for The High Stream set of trekking poles. I’m going to compare them to a set of Nianyiso trekking poles I bought on the same day. Both pairs of poles: Fold down nicely, have molded grips, are made of light weight aluminum, have adjustable heights and wrist straps. Both brands come in under 11 ounces for each pole, so there’s no significant weight difference unless you add the holsters, then the Nianyiso poles come in lighter. The Nianyiso poles cost me $36.99 and the High Stream poles $44.99. (I was not paid or given anything to review these I had to buy them!!) I’m going to focus on the differences between the two brands. The High Stream poles have cork grips as opposed to EVA foam grips on the Nianyiso poles. Both grips are molded and are quite comfortable although there is a slight edge to the feel of the cork grips on the High Stream. The High Stream poles also have a secondary grip just below the main grip which is wonderful for ascending hikes. The High Stream poles extend and lock by pulling the upper extension out and a small lock button pops out to lock. No need to line anything up. The Nianyiso poles lock by pulling out the top section and twisting it to lineup the line with the closed lock symbol on the upper handle. The high stream polls are quicker and easier to extend and retract. Both lock securely. Let’s look at the finish. The Nianyiso Have a nice black finish all the way down the pole where as the High Streams are black at the top but have a shiny aluminum finish at the bottom. I love the Tactical black look of the Nianyiso poles, but in my opinion the silver finish is going to hold up better than the black finish when scraped over rocks and from normal wear and tear, they’re just gonna look better. The Highstream trekking poles come in very well constructed individual holsters that can mount on your belt. This might be handy for some but I personally prefer to put my poles on my pack so they are not a plus for me. The Nianyiso trekking pole,s on the other hand, come with individual ripstop nylon and mesh bags, which I very much prefer. Let’s talk about pole tips. The High Steam poles come with a mud basket and rubber tips only. The Nianyiso poles Include all that but add a snow basket and boot tips. Both Poles came with an instructions sheet. High stream Sent me an email link to a video shortly after I purchased these, even before they arrived on how to properly extend them. I thought that was a really nice touch and speaks to their level of service. So in summary High Stream better Grips, locking mechanism, finish and service. Nianyiso better accessories, bags, and price. I think most would be happy with either set. Even though the High Streams are a few dollars more, side by side I would go with them. One thing I would have preferred on either set would be shock springs. That would have been 5 stars! I hope to upload my video comparison/review soon!

Incredible Quality/Price Ratio and top-notch customer service.
So, I bought them a while back in preparation for a summer of Hiking. They were one of the only brands I could find that had both Cork Grip (so much more comfortable than rubber) and aluminum construction (Instead of Carbon Fiber, which is lighter but also more fragile). The other pair I found that was similar cost almost doubles the price. So, I decided to get one these to see myself what they were worthing.I’m glad to say they exceed my expectation. At first glance I could see that they were well made, I like the folding design since it allows me to put them on the side of my Backpack when not in use. The carrying pouch is nice although I don’t think I will be using it on my belt since I have already too much around it. The tips provided are convenient to allow you some flexibility in their use.I’ve used them so far, half a dozen times so far on a beginner / intermediate level of trails, and they are holding up pretty well.Unfortunately, during a really hard and rough hike, one of the trekking poles snaps out at the handle level. I manage to fix it back on the spot (Praise duct tape) and was able to finish my hike while being cautious without any further issue. Back home I reach to their customer support about my problem, and in a matter of days I’ve received a completely new one. So, I’m as much if not more impress by their customer service, which is rare nowadays.
