UPDATE 12/15/18 I was so impressed with the first set, I bought another milti-outlet pack of 2. Again, quick shipping and great follow up by the seller, (though I think that perhaps the emails were robotic). Installation was not quite as simple as before as the plugs would not connect to the wi-fi network and I kept getting "connection failed" error messages. After about 10 attempts and a decision to return the products, the connection succeeded. I'm not sure what the issue was but I'm just a little less impressed than before.I bought this smart plug primarily as a timer for some appliances and lights. After an early arrival, I followed the simple which prompts you to download the app first. Easy - peasy set up, no glitches and my wi-fi network found the units instantly. Once connected, the directions were pretty intuitive and setting the timer was a breeze. Total process took about 10 minutes. Had them installed for a week now and they have been working flawlessly. Monitors energy consumption, controllable via the app, light timer et. al. A great investment and a lot more reliable than the old mechanical timers...at least so far.Highly recommended.

I have several different brands of smart plugs including from the big names like TP-Link. They all work pretty well. What surprised me about this Slitinto was the quality of the app (Tuya Smart Life), the simple setup, clear instructions, and pairing with Alexa. This double socket model seems very well build, as solid as my more expensive TP-Links. Unlike a lot of smaller brands, the instruction booklet is well written, complete, and its even in color. The app setup was simple and worked the first time. Be sure to notice the blinking speed of the setup lights. If they start off slow like mine did (about 1 flash per 2 seconds) then you hold down one of the switches for 6 seconds so that they blink rapidly. It installed and upgraded firmware right away. Connected to Alexa fine. I like being able to monitor power. I'm very pleased at the start, and will update this review if things change. Recommended!

We are very technology literate. We have and use several smart plugs as well as Alexa’s. We followed the initial directions for connecting the plug to our WiFi. We did that, or so we thought, inside our house. However, we wanted to use this double in our garage. Once we plugged it in the garage outlet, it stopped functioning. We brought one of our other single smart plugs out and it worked fine. I was thinking we would need to return/exchange this and went searching thru Amazon for a different one. I read thru the directions of another brand and it told me that if we had a dual band router, we needed to use the AP mode to connect. While those steps are in the directions, there is no indication that one needs to use those with a 2.4 ghz / 5G router. Once we followed those directions, it set up and has worked well since then.

I should have read the reviews. You cannot use this device with 5Ghz wifi. After failing setup I went back and read reviews and called my ISP. Apparently I could have switched to 2.4Ghz to complete setup and then switched back to 5Ghz if I had cellular service in my condo. Living in a city with unreliable cellular service due to concrete walls this was not a viable option so I returned the plug.Even without the wifi issue I was not thrilled that I would need an additional app for this plug. I already had an Amazon Smart Plug which is seamlessly controlled by Alexa app. I ordered a 2nd Amazon Smart Plug. Back in business.

If the wifi cuts out for a minute, the device never reconnects. You have to manually unplug and re-plug in order to get it to re-establish a connection. This breaks automated timers, and forces you to manually handle the device on a regular basis, which defeats its purpose. Pretty lame.

So the product works as described and is quite responsive to SmartLife and Alexa. I was having difficulty originally and was returning the product. I ultimately found resolution. When adding skill via Alexa you are taken to a site that is third party and asked for phone number and password to install skill. Problem is the writing is very very light gray and small. Apparently you should use the email address you use while registering Smartlife in this field.

The unit does work independently with Alexa. People saying it doesn't just didn't read the instructions, and jumped the gun. You need to name the oulets individually IN THE APP, then Alexa will rexognize as two separate outlets. It works fine here, and I have 4 of those. Used the app once, then never again, just the Alexa/echo/dot.

I like that it made one outlet into 2. But it is difficult to get the other side to work with Alexa. One side works perfectly, but other side won't come on even though Alexa says "ok". The plug was a little more difficult to sync with Alexa compared to my other smart plugs. The side that works, works perfectly!!
