Easy to use
I had these with the original boat purchase I lost one, I was extremely happy to see it available. I purchased them that night very sturdy and happy with them.

Easy size
These are a standard size however it was easy to cut them to fit our Tritoon boat. Very heavy duty to support the outdrive going down the road and fits great.

Added Safety
We trailer our boat frequently, drive long distances when we travel, and store the boat for extended periods. I wanted to know that in the event of a hydraulic failure that I wouldn't be dragging the outdrive down the highway. These devices needed to be cut down a little to fit my Gen 2 Alpha 1 outdrive with anodes. The instruction card gives you the correct length to trim them to for your drive, and I used my Milwaukee Hackzall to cut them, which worked great. They clip on securely and pop off quickly. The red color helps prevent forgetting to remove them at the boat ramp. Recommended!

Simple solution
1995 Alpha I Gen II - Ignore the chart they include, remember your cylinder anodes (which take all the load), put outdrive to trailering height and measure. Left mine a little long to the mark and used a chopsaw for simple cutting. Holes drilled for safety lanyards will be cut off when shortening length by very much - drill after you get length/exact tethering config. Paracord makes a great tether but you might need to bungee them as the molded profile isn't as tight on the cylinder rod as hoped. Care s/b taken to not over-retracting the pneumatics after bottoming on clips. Should have done this years ago. Can't imagine a situation where these wouldn't be as good/better than running on the cylinders and for the price?

Great product!
Though it may not be an essential towing accessory, I’d rather be safe than sorry. I opted to cut the rounded tabs off to make it easier to remove when hydraulic pressure is removed. Clips onto hydraulic arms well and doesn’t easily remove when freed up from pressure. If you’re overly cautious like myself, I definitely recommend this product.
