Punky Colour Blue To Teal Mood Switch Heat Activated Hair Color Change, Temporary Hair Effect

I had LOW hopes for this to begin with, so I can't say I'm surprised, but it would have been nice if it would have worked at all. I saw a review that said it was more like a gel or cream that just sat on your hair, which is about accurate. That's why I went ahead and tried it out...I wasn't looking for a permanent hair color, just a fun color changing experiment.I do have darker hair so it was hard to tell that the purple was in my hair and upon drying it like the directions say it did turn to a turquoise color, but only in specks. Imagine if you applied a cream/gel type product, then blow dried your hair and it turned to a crayon type texture.THEN you bush your hair after taking forever to blow dry, & There you have it! NOW there's crayon type dust all over your legs and floor!! My hair had a turquoise tint to the top of my head where I applied it (there was definitely not enough product for my whole head. Only three small sections on my top layer of hair) and no where else, so I decided to straighten it...what happens when you try to straighten a crayon? THAT'S right! Melty turquoise on my straightener! I never saw the purple again. IDK if I did something wrong by following the directions to a T, or maybe it doesn't work well with thick, coarse hair types. Either way, this was definitely not what I saw advertised. I'm not necessarily upset about it, I guess I had fun testing it out and making a mess lol. I would have been ok with the waste of time and money if the color change would have actually worked, but oh well, now I know.

It was a great product if your definitely looking for temporary. It also doesn't damage your hair at all like many dyes do. Buy it feels thick and like you got a wad of gel in your hair.

The idea of this hair-dye is super cool.I got the purple that changes to green.The application is a little messy. Because I have lightish brown hair I needed to apply a lot of the product and it did not show up that well. I could just barely see the purple in my hair (not as vivid as the photos on the box)The hair closer to the scalp remains the greenish color (because of the heat from the head).When I applied the heat from the blow-dryer it was cool to see the color change to a muddy green.At some point I will bleach my hair, try applying again and see if the colors are any more vibrant.As other reviewers stated the product needs to be left in the hair. It feels like a really thick hair gel and will not feel like your natural hair.Washes easily off of hands.

I absolutely loved this idea and bought it instantly. I tried it 2 different ways (directly on my short white bleached hair and on a bleach blonde hair extension). What I did not like about the product is the texture. It made it really hard to style long hair and I couldn't curl it right with the product on. It's a weird wax like feeling. I also felt the description of orange and yellow is misleading. On my scalp it didn't even show orange and on the extension it was a barely noticeable peach and would revert back to a blonde, not actually yellow. I also didn't realize it washes right out, so this a very temporary , barely noticeable look. I do think it is a great price, but wish the color was more vivid, it felt more natural on and that it would last longer.

The Punky Colour Purple to Blue Mood Switch Hair Dye didn’t work at all. The color didn’t change as promised, and it didn’t show up well on my hair. Very disappointing, especially for the price. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Ok so……let me start out by saying that even tho I AM saying this is better than the Chinese brand which was the original to bring the heat changing color to the scene……..I am in no way saying that this is a pleasant experience for a hair color product………..especially if u r someone that already does ALOT of coloring (and damage) to their hair so u also spend a ton of money on the additional needed products to repair and care for ur expensive platinum bleached hair………my reason for saying this is that to use these particular type of colors, u put the color on ur clean, dry hair and let it air dry or u use ur hairdryer to dry it ONTO ur hair…….plz pay attention to the word “ONTO”…………because as far as I can see…….it’s basically like putting a buttload of really dry, chalky texturizer in to style ur hair in the morning………to have hair so stiff that ur comb or brush gets stuck repeatedly! It also flakes off and even wipes off onto ur hands and skin…….so if u r a hairflipper……be prepared for bright hands by the end of the day……Lol! Bright side to all that…….is the obvious……..it’s gone fast and doesn’t stain ur skin to horribly! Great product if u and ur kids r just playing around during the summer………not so much if u enjoy ur shiny, bouncy hair! Still…..this brand is far better than the original Chinese brand………BUT now I’m gonna wait til I can afford the Pravana kit in the high hopes that the professional and much more expensive versions of this super fun hair trend…….will be so much better than the over the counter brands. When it comes to hair products…….it’s 99% of the time……ALWAYS THE TRUTH……….u get what u pay for and that my friends is why professional brands cost more. They r better…….but again……..for a silly night or some fun with the kids….this over the counter brand is DEFINITELY the one I would choose!

I'm a hairstylist and I got this for personal use. My hair is too dark for it to work on since it is supposed to go from black to a light pink so I put it on platinum extensions. The black color came out looking as if it were a very watered down version of black and it did change color with heat the pink was also very muted. It made the hair feel really gross though and after playing with it a bit, which is something anyone would want to to with this product, a good amount of it rubbed off of the hair. I don't recommend this to anyone because you will want to wash it out of your hair as soon as you feel it dry.
