Q: Is there any real discernible print quality differences after installing this? i'm happy with my cr-10 already, but tempted.. worth it?

I wish I could give a definite yes or no, but I can say that your prints won't be worse. ;-) For me, I knew I would eventually upgrade from the bowden system, to direct drive. With the added weight of a direct drive system, I felt it was essential for me. So that is something to consider if you plan to go that route in the future. With the CR-10s mainboard, you will get the added benefit of the filament runout sensor, power loss resume function, as well as a few extra connectors on board, one of which, is for a bl-touch sensor. Unfortunately, you will get the same drivers which are on your current board, so it won't be any quieter like the new silent boards for the Ender 3. The quieter drivers have finally been introduced to the CR-10 series with the CR-10v2. I may look into one of those boards in the future. All in all, I don't regret this upgrade. It depends on what kinds of upgrades you might consider down the road. Hope this helps.
