Does the job well
I was using this on floors that are about 80 years old and have had hard treatment by various residents. There are places where the floor is completely worn through the shellac and even the stain is worn off. I was worried because it says not to use on untreated floors, but I figured it couldn't possibly make it worse. So after a good cleaning I followed the directions and mopped over the whole floor. I waited an hour or so then put on the second coat. The difference from before is impressive. The parts of the floor that still had finish have a nice semi-gloss shine. The bare wood doesn't shine exactly but does look so dried out and sad. My husband's comment was the best description- "It looks old but clean." And that's exactly what it is. Very thankful to the man (Fred?) whose description of cleaning floors in his rental house recommended Weiman as the best of the "repair" products. He also recommended Zep for cleaning and that stuff is amazing too.

It impressed us with how well it works
Our wooden floors are over 100 years old. There are scuffs and marks everywhere as you would expect. It didn’t use to bother me much but it’s gotten a lot worse over the past year—to the point where it scratched and injured our dog’s foot. That was the turning point for us.We considered getting it redone but alas we don’t have the funds for that right now. So we did the next best thing and that’s to use a floor restorer. It’s our first time dealing with this kind of project but I have to say it’s easier than what I had imagined. I followed the instructions to the t and got some great results. It didn’t fix all the problems, like the splinters are still there but it has for sure made our floors look nicer. It’s now a lot shinier than before. Scratches are also less visible.Using the floor restorer:We started by cleaning the floors thoroughly with a vacuum. Then we used our flat dust mop to remove dirt and dust. Finally, we opened the bottle of restorer and applied that to the hardwood. It dried quickly and we were able to put on the second layer after 30 minutes. We contemplated on whether or not to add a third layer but it looked good enough with two so we left it at that. The smell isn’t exactly great but fortunately it went away after an hour. The next step is to see how long the two layers will last. I read in some reviews that it’s generally durable so I have my fingers crossed that I won’t have to re-do it for a while. I will update my review when I need to get them redone so you all know how long it works for. As it is…right now however I am satisfied with the product and would give it a full 5/5!

Ridiculously Effective!!!
I recently moved into a house with original hardwood floors that had not been very well cared for by past tenants. The floors were faded, dull, looked pretty bad. I wanted to try something to add some shine again.I decided on this product based on the really good reviews. I could not believe how well it worked! It added instant shine and darkened the faded areas, so now they blend in better with the rest of the floor. I didn't except much, but wow, I was delightfully surprised by the effectiveness of this product. My floors look like they have been professionally refinished. I wasn't expecting this much! It's also very easy to use; it's a very water-like liquid which I just squirted on in the recommended zig-zag pattern, then I just mopped over it with a microfiber pad attached to a floor cleaner. A little goes a long way. I did my large living room, smaller bedroom, and hallway; I redid the living room after two weeks to get a cumulative effect (slightly darker and much more shine). I'm not even halfway through the first bottle.I am a very satisfied customer and will continue to use this product as needed. I HIGHLY recommend trying this if you want your old floors to shine like new.

Difficult but worth it!
Look, just get the proper tools to do this. You've GOT to vacuum, vacuum again, vacuum again, vacuum again, and vacuum again. Then, make sure your windows are closed and your fans are off. Literally any spec that lands on your floor or is left on your floor when you apply this IS going to basically be fossilized into your nice new glossy floor. But once you're sure there is NOTHING on the floor, get yourself the equivalent of a squeegee with some fuzz on it (it looks like a pole with a paint roller on the end, but it applies it without the paint roller lines, just smoothly), and LET IT DRY! I leave it at least 60 mins. More if I can manage it. I also walk on the floor with a fleece blanket for the first day afterwards (the dogs love this - not). But man...when it's done, it's like you have a new floor. Do you need to do it "often" - meh depends on how much you use your floors and they get dog scratches on them or what have you. It CAN be affected by some cleaners (like if you scrub somewhere, some chemicals seem to "eat away" at the finish)...I usually use a little steel wool, even out the area and do a little spot fix. I don't LIKE doing that but whatever. I had wood floors for 10 years in a place I rented and when I left I got my entire security deposit back, in part, because of this product. Not for the faint of heart. Not a quick fix. But a beautiful finish if you're willing to work at it. Practice makes perfect - but so does the right tools.

Works Great
My floors were a hot mess. Duller than a worn out knife! I’ve tried so many things to freshen them up, but this is the only thing that worked. It did not completely cover the scratches, but it did bring a beautiful sheen back to these old dull floors. An added bonus, it was super easy to use. For all you older folks out there, it was like “Mop and Glow”. You squirt directly from the bottle and mop with a lint free cloth (I also bought these from Amazon).
