It will grow if you water
I purchased this and put the seed down this past Spring. I got good results. Grass came in and grew quickly. However, I let my dogs pee on that area too soon and it quickly died. Not the seeds fault. I will order more to put down this Fall.

If you follow instructions it will work
It works if you closely follow the instructions. I bought this since it said it grew in shaded areas. I had a large patch of dirt that needed to regrow grass in an area with very little sunlight. I was hoping I could just sprinkle it on and have some regrow in a couple of weeks. I spread it around and then made sure to water it regularly. After a week I could see some sprouting in areas that got more sun. After another week the areas with growth had a decent density of grass coming through. Other areas I got nothing. So I went back to the empty areas and made sure to follow the instructions on prepping. The empty areas received less sunlight so I knew they would be problematic. After a week I saw some sprouting come through. Another week and have some decent growth. So it will work if you do the prepping and maintenance. I had other spots in my lawn that I just threw some straw on, but these areas aren't so picky. The EZ seed did regrow quicker than the just strawed areas which is what I was hoping for. Is the density and variety of grass perfect? Well it has left some room to be desired. Was it as EZ as advertised? Not exactly as EZ as they make it seem. So I would recommend the product but it would come with some caveats.

Product Does Not Sprout Grass
This product does not sprout grass. I bought it twice. Once a year or so go and then two weeks ago. It didn’t work the first time but I blamed myself. Wasn’t sure I kept the product moist/wet enough for the seed to germinate. This time I knew we would be home for two full weeks and knew I could follow the directions exactly. Followed all directions exactly as written. Never once dried out. Out of using the full bottle along a bare strip of new topsoil, I sprouted less than ten blades of new grass. Bunk product. Don’t waist your time and money. Not going to bother asking for a refund. But I won’t be fooled a third time!

easy to spread.
As someone who takes pride in maintaining a lush and healthy lawn, I turned to Scotts EZ Seed Patch with high hopes, and I'm pleased to say it delivered a satisfactory experience overall.Ease of Use:One of the standout features of Scotts EZ Seed Patch is its ease of use. The product combines seed, fertilizer, and mulch in one convenient package, making it simple for even novice gardeners to achieve successful results. The application process is straightforward – just spread the seed patch over bare spots in your lawn, water it regularly, and watch as new grass begins to grow.Effectiveness:In terms of effectiveness, Scotts EZ Seed Patch performs reasonably well. Within a few weeks of application and proper watering, I noticed new grass sprouting in the areas where I applied the seed patch. The combination of seeds with mulch and fertilizer seems to provide adequate nourishment and protection for the seeds to germinate and establish themselves.Coverage and Application:The product provides decent coverage per package size, enough to treat several small to medium-sized bare patches in the lawn effectively. For larger areas, multiple packages may be required, which can increase the overall cost but ensures thorough coverage and better results.Versatility:Scotts EZ Seed Patch is versatile and can be used in various lawn conditions, including sun or shade, which adds to its appeal. It adapts well to different soil types and can help rejuvenate troubled areas of the lawn, whether due to heavy foot traffic, pet damage, or other factors.Value for Money:While Scotts EZ Seed Patch is not the cheapest lawn repair solution on the market, its effectiveness and convenience justify the price for those looking to achieve quick and reliable results without extensive manual labor or multiple products. Conclusion:In conclusion, Scotts EZ Seed Patch is a reliable option for repairing bare spots in your lawn with minimal effort. Its all-in-one design simplifies the seeding process, making it accessible to both beginners and experienced gardeners alike. While results may vary depending on environmental factors and maintenance practices, I found it to be a practical solution for maintaining a healthy and vibrant lawn.

Seed path repair
Round coated seed balls. Open, pour, cover with soil and rake. Water till they grow. Because of the bigger size, there's not as many seeds in this container versus a bigger bag of a different brand that is just seed. This works good for getting repairs on bare patches or areas that need a little help. It grows nicely. I've got the product a couple times.

Expensive but Works well so far
Out of the 3 scotts seed products I used this was the best one. The yard looks weird now because the ez seed patches are the best looking spots. Used along edges and thin patches from high traction areas. Used along with fresh soil*Took about 3 weeks for it to get going. Overseeding is a must because of all the mulch and fertilizer. It can leave thinner spots if the water/rain moves the seeds but leaves the fertilizer and mulch. Watered Twice daily at the beginning and then a single morning water later once it was sprouted,Drought resistant bag had no seeds sprout. Sun/shade regular mix had like a 45% sprout.
