The Mezlan family began its legacy in footwear making saddles for generations of European aristocrats. With a reputation for fine workmanship and superior craftsmanship, the Mezlan name became regarded as one of the finest in the world. Over time, Mezlan increased their production capabilities, transforming from a custom shop to a cottage industry, to a small manufacturer. As always, the focus was on making beautiful footwear with the original master touch of quality and craftsmanship. To this day, the Mezlan family remains the author of brilliant shoes and accessories made all better by a rich and interesting history.

Great Shoe
My husband, a fan of Mezlan (& To Boot NY & Pliner) shoes & had been looking at the Senator for a while. I surprised him by buying him a pair - he loves them. He wore them the next morning to work and has already worn them several times since. He found them to be a perfect fit and comfortable, right out of the box. Online, the shiny area looks like patent leather but fear not (if you are hesitant because of that)....it's beautiful, glossy un-textured leather, not shiny patent leather! They're a great formal-ish work/dress shoe, perfect for meetings or important days. Beautiful craftsmanship. FYI, in To Boot he needs to buy a smaller size than he normally wears. These and Pliners run true to size.

Wished they fit 100% out the box
Once I tried them on I immediately noticed they were smaller than previous Mezlan's I have worn. I put them on a shoe stretcher and now they fit well. I must admit I haven't finished breaking them in and have only wore them around the house. The leather is of good quality and I have no doubt they will fit perfectly after they have formed to my foot. Would have gave them a 5 star review because of the overall elegance and quality. They are narrow enough that initially they were uncomfortable and I couldn't wear them. I would have returned them, but I knew the leather would stretch to fit.

I love them! They wear like I've been wearing them ...
I love them! They wear like I've been wearing them a while. I'm 6'4", they look sleek on my feet. I bought these (Senators) and the Tyson II's. I've received nothing but compliments. My wife of 44 years, love these shoes...and her opinion is the most important. I have owned a brown pair of Mezlan's for about 15 years; the shoes still look great! I plan to purchase more.

Stylish, comfortable, worth the price
This is a great looking shoe and I have received quite a few compliments. They fit well once you get them on and are very comfortable without much break-in. But beware, you will have to unbuckle the strap every time to get them on, other than that you'll love these shoes. I certainly do and Mezlan will be my go to brand for future purchases.

The shoe has a.narrow width but the length is true to size. I should have purchased a size 11 instead.of 11.5. Most loafers will stretch some over time.but the length usually remain the same. Very nice show.

Another stylish model from Mezlan
I love Mezlan shoes, always very stylish and great quality. I typically wear a 12, but find that most of my Mezlan shoes fit superb with an 11-1/2. This model however is a little less refined in the area just behind the heel, so it could be a little painful there if you go too small. I might recommend going with your normal shoe size if you normally step down a 1/2 size like I do.

Beautiful Style; Narrow overall, especially Toe area; Comfort lacking but fixable for a few dollars
The style of this shoe is beautiful and the quality of the leather is pretty good. But leather is leather, whether you spend $20 or $500 it gets damaged easily and is hard to upkeep. This shoe fit as expected I'm usually between 9-10, I liked the length of the 9 better but I also bought the 9.5 and ended up keeping it because of the width. It is definitely a bit on the narrow side, especially at the toe end so if you have a wide or bulky foot get a 1/2 size up and try that but they just may not work for you. My 2 Complaints that lost it 2 stars- behind your ankles at the top back of the shoe is very rigid which is good for quality but bad for comfort and also the bottom of this shoe is so slippery I wore it in the city on a rainy and had to walk slower in the tiled subway area because I couldn't avoid slipping. So if you're willing to add padding behind the ankle and put a rubber sole on the bottom for grip for a few dollars this is a beautifully styled shoe and can be worn with jeans, trousers or a suit.

Work of Art
This is a very handsome shoe. It is comfortable as well. I've been wearing Mezlan brand shoes for nearly 20 years and they hit a out of the ball park, grand slam, game winning, in the bottom of the ninth inning, of game seven of the World Series, HOME RUN with this one. I'm very happy with this shoe.
