Great fan and customer service....!
You'll LOVE this industrial fan....!! This is my 2nd purchase of this fan. I recently purchased another one for my sister who has a garden area outside and lives in Florida. We love it. My 2nd order arrived damaged by the delivery company but customer service at the fan company made everything right quickly. I'd do business with this company again and again, not like other companies for sure. I truly appreciate them.

Powerful Fan, Cool Air!!
I only received this fan yesterday, so my review is only based on how well it works, not its longevity.Situation: Top floor apt w/ central air & gas oven (emits a constant heat) and a 97F heat-wave - high humidity - for the past week. By 2pm, w the sun beating down on the roof, the apt is around 82F even with the thermostat set @ 70F (can't wait for the energy bill). In addition we have ferrets - these critters cannot take temps much higher than 85F w/o risking their health. After much sweating, pet lethargy and spousal complaints, I decided to order a fan. Once I pulled it out of the box and turned it on, I kicked myself for not ordering this sooner.PROS:*POWERFUL. Not only does this small fan push the air pretty far (I was 16 ft away & still felt the breeze), but the air is noticeably cooler. I know, I know, fans don't 'cool' the air, just move it...except this one does. Maybe it's sheer force, maybe it's magic (ha) but whatever powers are at play, the result is much cooler air. I actually put our thermostat up to 80F to give the HVAC unit a break. Even with the air essentially off, my husband put the fan on low after a while bc he got 'cold'.*SMALL. This fan only comes to the top of my knee-cap (for reference, I am a 5'5" female). Great for people who don't have a lot of storage options. It's sturdy but lightweight - almost anyone (thinking of elderly people) will be able to easily lift it by the handle and move it where needed. It doesn't oscilate, but it can be tilted up/down depending on your needs.*WELL-BUILT. I initially liked this fan bc metal seemed more durable in the long run than plastic. Again, I can't attest to its longevity, but it feels/looks solidly built. It has 4 large silver buttons - bottom is on/off, then low-high as you go up. Nice and simple. The cord is quite thick - much like a cord found on a surge protector power-strip. Note: After 3 hours on high and one on low, the fan's motor was not warm to the touch (always something to consider).*SOUND. I read some reviews that claimed this fan is too loud (which is why I hesitated on purchasing) but it's not an issue for me. If you've ever had a 'cool down' fan kick on for your computer or gaming console, that's about the level of noise you can expect when this fan is on the high setting. I can put this in the ferret's room if need be and they won't be bothered (aka: wake up and want OUT of their cage) about the noise. We watched TV with the fan on high in the same room and there wasn't any problem.CONS:COST. Honestly, this really isn't a 'con' if this fan keeps performing well and lasts as long as I'm hoping it will. But for people on a budget, I can see the cost being a deterrent. For this fan, I think the quality is well worth the price.100% I would recommend this product. In fact I'm considering ordering one for my mom & another one for myself (so the humans don't have to share with the ferrets).SIDE NOTE: if you have curious pets (dogs, cats, ferrets, bunnies, etc) or small children crawling/toddling around - I would NOT recommend using this on the floor while they are out and about!! Those metal blades won't be fun for fingers, paws, noses or tails!!! I simply tucked the fan in our closet when I released the beasts from their cage this morning. Using it on a counter top would also work...for all but the cats, anyway. :)

Loud, but that's OK with me.
Seems like a very sturdy fan! I wish the pitch on the blades was steeper because then the force of the wind would be greater. The old Patton fans were made with a steeper blade pitch to push more air, but those old motors were more powerful so that was possible. Since Patton sold out, there don't seem to be any fans with those more powerful motors. The motors now are all shallow with fewer copper windings. I use fans a lot, and the new fans are junk compared to the older ones---even grama's old dining room table fan could push more air. Bring manufacturing back to America!!!!!!

Great fan, easy to mount on ceiling
I have bought 4 different brands of 20 inch fans ranging in price of $55 to $175. I would rate this as the second best. I have kept all 4 as they were needed at the time. Everything about this fan from the buttons to set the speed (not a plastic membrane over a button), to the knobs to tighten the tilt and the way the stand just slips together with spring loaded pins suggests quality. When the fan is running, there is no wobble, chattering or squeaking noise. But, since it pushes every bit of the stated volume of air, there is a certain noise level to contend with. The noise is the air being pushed not the sound of the motor. The two fans that I rated lower, both have a slight wobble to them while they are running (obviously not balanced motor/blades or both). This is a top notch fan.Steer clear of fans that will not tell you the volume of air they are expected to move and understand that more air is going to be more noise. Another thing to look at is either the amperage or watts. You can convert easily: Power (watts) = Amps x volts. In this case, this fan has a information on the fan that states 1.3 amps so you know 1.3 x 120 volts = 156 watts. This information is slightly skewed from this listing as it states 2 amps.A brand that is pushed on this site does not show their volume of air and states that their wattage is 30. Either that is a misprint or a very weak fan. 30 watts/120 volts = 0.25 amps. I would say it is probably a misprint. Steer clear or buyer beware.Notice that with a simple rod, mounted on the ceiling, you can hang the fan. I made this mount out of 3/8 inch rebar welded to small plates for attachment to ceiling. Prior to bending the rebar, I slid a piece of 1/2 inch PEX tubing. There is no direct attachment to the fan and if I need it elsewhere: Easy to unhook and move.
