Well built and seems unbreakable
I've cut branches that have broken or bent other cutters; branches like dry hazel nut that take two hands to fully cut. These clippers are extremely tough, and the blade steel stays sharp and straight. However, like some other commenters have mentioned, opening them fully wide takes a large hand and these might not work as well for my wife (purchased on her account). My wife has a pair of Florians which are a very great product and they are back on the market, but $50 is steep.

Not a bad pruner
They haven't bent yet and so far getting clean cuts. It is harder to use that I had hoped for but the ratch action really helps with that so far.

Didn’t work
Didn’t ratchet straight out of the box, and it was actually even *harder* to use than my regular pruners. Felt very cheaply made. Says Japanese, but really made in china. Maybe I just got a bad pair, but it was a horrible experience.

False Advertising
It's not Japanese... It was made in China and it smelled like a strong manufacturing factory for the longest time. Works fine and easy to use other than that.

Easy to use
The media could not be loaded. I bought these for my little garden area. I have limited strength in my hands due to a medical condition so I have a hard time using pruners. These have worked really well and they are very versatile. They are sharp enough to clip herbs or small plants. The ratchet part allows me to cut thicker branches as well.

doesn’t cut it
After much usage, it needs better handles to allow for gloves. Handle openings get in way because too small even for my medium-sized hands. The blades can’t cut fine stems well and won’t open wide enough for half inch branches. The blades smash softer branches because it’s anvil type. l find anvils wear out fast and prefer cross-cut styles. The lock was hard to engage and disengage. The shears must be tightly closed to do it. But I’ve yet to see a lock that’s good for any shears. They need reinventing.

These are the ones I was looking for

Pricewise this has been a bad choice
This anvil is not any better than a $5 one from Alibaba or Temu. There is nothing special about it ergonomically and the blade becomes rusty at first use. All in all, it is an average anvil, but way overpriced.Returned it.
