Would this be ok for a 8'x30 Intex easy set above pool?

I am not really sure we only use this in a small, 86” x 56” x 23” pool. It works great for our small lil pool. It hold only one inch tablets. You might need the bigger one that holds larger tablets.

Would this work for a 1,000 gallon stock tank?

It works great in my swim spa. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work in a stock tank.

Can I break a bigger chlorine tab to put in this?

Yes , that is exactly what I do when I can’t find the small tabs .

When I drain this will the chlorine harm my grass?

I drain my 10K pool on the grass and have no problems at all.. except the nightcrawlers come jumping out of the grass..
