Been looking for this for a long time!
I'm so glad to have found this book again!! I bought it right after 9/11 in 2001, but it disappeared somewhere along the way. It is an amazing and sad, but real. I will never forget!! I recommend it much sooner than expected. Big thanks to the seller!!Thank you for parting with it!!

A great book on a horrific event
One of our boys brought this home from his school library and was so fascinated with it. So, my husband told him to return it so other kids could learn about that event and we bought our own copy for home. This book is big and has so many stories relating to everything going on that day. It talks about The towers being struck, the other flights that were hijacked, stories about firemen, first responders, citizens, etc. The pictures are amazing quality and it really helps kids especially learn about that horrific day along with us adults to reminisce on it as well.

Captures well the immensity of this event
We saw this book in the World Trade Centre on a recent visit to NYC. It along with another book we believed were the best of what was on offer. Incredible graphics, real pictures; some featuring frame by frame shots, then the personal stories. It's really a must read, and incredible book for the coffee table where everybody picks this book up and flicks through. We ordered the book only the evening we returned to our hotel room (2nd hand) - saving weight in our luggage as it was in the first week of a month holiday along the east coast of US. Was here at home in OZ when we returned, and it looks brand new! Thanks Amazon!

Worth having, but...
I would like to have known before ordering that 120+ pages of this book were published by Life 2-3 weeks before, page for page, in a commemorative issue available on newstands - though in paper, and with a different title and cover (curiously, though, the lovely cover photo - a firefighter holding the flag was missing from the hardcover version). I felt misled when I first skimmed this hardcover edition. Later, I realized that there were about 50 extra pages, but photos added to the hardcover weren't that much different from what was in the paper version on newsstands; pages with pictures of individuals at the end was overdone filler; and many photos were very familiar already. Having said all that, one can't argue with the quality of "Life" compilations of photographs, and quality of the book overall (paper, format, photo placements) is very good, with several eye-popping pictures. And it certainly beats presentation in the Magnum Press compilation, also about the WTC attacks.

September 11,2011
My grandson was born on this day. When he was old enough, he began to ask a lot of questions. This book is beautiful and takes readers through the entire day. He could not put the book down until he had looked at all the pictures and read all the infomation. He, from that point, understood what happened that day. I always wondered what I would tell him when he asked me. I told him that he was a bright and shining star on a very dark day. He is so bright, kind, smart and a good little athlete. This book helped him a lot.........

More than excellent used copy
Excellent pictorial memorial account of 9/11. My old hardcover copy had fallen apart with use. Hope this one will hold up as I teach my grandchildren about this history. This used hardbound copy came promptly and in pristine condition.

Amazing pictoral look at 9-11
I bought this as a gift to my sister, but before I wrapped it, I ended up looking through the photos that told the haunting story of 9-11. Now, granted, I have not seen the other books by other publishers, but I was amazed at the vividness captured on film. My wife is a photographer, and I know how hard she works to capture images that are "worth a 1,000 words." The photographers who sold their images to Life have done their job. If you want a keep-sake to remember one of the greatest tragedies in American history, I recommend this book. It helps give perspective as to the true tragedy of the events taking place that day.
