Paleo Certified Paraben Free Aluminum Free Frequently Asked Questions Are Fatco products Gluten Free? All of their ingredients are free of gluten containing substances. Since all of Fatco products are hand-made by them, they can definitely guarantee that there is no cross contamination in their manufacturing process, but Fatco can't say the same for all of their suppliers. A majority of Fatco supplies come from Mountain Rose Herbs, and they are currently not certified as a Gluten Free facility. This doesn't mean that their products are NOT Gluten Free, but rather that they do not yet have certification. Because Fatco know how detrimental it can be for someone with celiacs to use products with gluten in them, they want to be upfront and honest about this. So, in summary, Fatco cannot say with 100% certainty that their products are GF, but this is something that they're working on and will keep you posted! Are the Products Cruelty Free? Well, this all depends on your personal definition of cruelty free. Fatco do NOT test their products on animals. However, Fatco do use animal byproducts (i.e., tallow, aka beef fat) in their products. Obviously, an animal had to die for this ingredient. However, at Fatco they are HUGE believers in the "Nose to Tail" philosophy. This means that they believe in using the WHOLE animal, not just the meat. This includes everything, all the way down to the bones and fat! Are there any preservatives in Fatco products? Fatco use absolutely no artificial preservatives in their products. They believe that they should treat their skincare products like they treat the food that we feed our bodies. They personally try to stay away from pre-packaged foods with long shelf lives, so why would the rules change for your skincare products? All of their products should be opened within one year of manufacturing date (which can be found on the bottom of the jar) and should be used within 6 months of opening. Where are Fatco products made? Fatco products are handmade at a small privately owned facility in Austin, Texas. About Fatco Cassy Burnside, Founder Cassy's passion for clean eating inspired her business - making clean skincare products. For years, Cassy practiced the philosophy that a health-conscious diet can improve your life, one meal at a time. This connection between food and well-being led her on a quest to find skincare products developed for the same benefits.
