Awesome, however....
I purchase these for my three Golden Retrievers as special treats for when we leave the house for extended periods of time. I use them in the Nylabone toy that I originally purchased that contained the toy and several of these treats in the package. The object of the toy/treat is that the dogs must "work" a bit to remove the treat which occupies them in our absence. The dogs love these things and for the most part I do also, however, the original package of treats fit inside the toy snugly but, the "refill" packs of these treats vary so much in size that more than half of the treats in the package fall right out of the Nylabone toy when the treats are inserted, which sort of defeats the purpose of the dogs having to "work at" removing them....they just fall right out! I continue to repurchase because the dogs really look forward to us leaving (a major deal since one of my boys has separation anxiety!!!), so that they can have one of these treats, however I do wish they were a bit wider like the originals purchased with the toy itself, so they fit in the toy a bit snugger!UPDATED 1/2017: The packages that I have been purchasing lately do indeed fit more snugly in the toy!! However, I have a suspicion that these are being discontinued since they are getting harder to come by! PLEASE NYLABONE!! Don't discontinue this product!!!

Obsolete treat? What happened to peanut butter flavor?
I've been buying these for years because they're the only snack that isn't devoured in moments. However, the original plastic bone the treat is inserted into is ready for replacement, but it doesn't look like it's available any longer. Looking at the comments, one person mentions the treat doesn't fit in the toy any longer and another mentions they returned because the treat was hard as a rock (so, if the product is old, not fresh, it gets hard and shrinks a little?). I've noticed the same things. Since the (hard as rock) treat doesn't fit any longer, I take a pair of pliers and smash the ends of the treat a little and then shove it into the plastic bone. What I'm wondering, (since the peanut butter flavor hasn't been available for about a year or more), is the chicken flavor just the inventory being depleted and won't be available any more when the last one is sold? My lab eats rocks, and she loves the movie-night treat so I'm not worried that it might be stale (if indeed it is).

about 75% of the treats received were too small for the holder they are supposed to fit into snugly--they just fall out easily w
After using these treats for over a year (I was a subscribe and save customer until today), I finally gave up. The quality of the product varies widely from package to package. Over the past several months, about 75% of the treats received were too small for the holder they are supposed to fit into snugly--they just fall out easily without my dog having to work for them. He devours them in 60 seconds instead of 15-20 minutes (when they are made correctly). It wouldn't be so bad if it were just an odd treat here or there that didn't fit the holder, but when one doesn't fit, usually the entire package is too small. When they are small, they are also much more brittle than normal (if you try to bend them to make them stay in the holder they snap in half), so my dog ends up swallowing hard chunks with rigid edges. Although these treats appear to be stale, I believe it's a problem with consistency of the manufacturing process as the "best by" date on the package I'm looking at now is over a year away. This has been happening ever since I bought the refill holder over two years ago. I was buying them at WalMart until they dropped the item (probably too many returns), and was having better luck with Amazon for a while. But enough is enough--it's not like these treats are inexpensive at about 60 cents per individual treat. If you buy them in the store, you can tell if they are too small--if they don't entirely fill the space in the see-thru plastic, don't buy them. On Amazon (where I usually like to shop) you can't see them when you buy them, so it's the luck of the draw.

A good doggie distraction
I have the large nylabone these treats fit into, and my dogs love this treat. It's an excellent distraction toy to keep them busy and quiet. My larger one gets it first and chews it down and then my smaller one finishes it up (we have plenty of toys, but they always want the toy the other one has right then, just like kids). This at least keeps them occupied long enough for us to get through a tv episode without crazy dog romper room play all over the couch (and anyone who has the misfortune of sitting on the couch at the time). Usually their puppy exuberance is cute, but sometimes I like the quiet. These treats are worth the money and way less messy than trying to fill the nylabone with peanut butter. Some of them don't snap into place as well as others, but I can usually press those in well enough. I'll def buy these again.

Dogs love!!
Okay, these go into Nylabone treat holders; there's one that looks like a tree, there's a large bone, I think maybe another something or other. We have the bone, (I want to say it called "Souper", but can't remember) which I purchased here 2 years ago for $9. You pop this in, then they have to gnaw it out. Denim gets one every night after supper. She's 100 lbs, and it takes 10 - 15 min for her to get it out. (your dog may take longer or shorter, depending on strength of chew)Good ingredients, 45 cal per chew. Dogs love.I just wish they still made it in peanut butter, although she never gets tired of the chicken flavor.

Lab's favorite treat.
These fit perfectly in the Romp and Chomp Nylabone chew bone and our Lab looked forward to that treat every night! For some reason they are no longer available. Maybe Amazon or another customer can solve the puzzle. Will buy again when available. Thank you.

They were great at $5 but not $9 Price Doubled overnight
I used to buy 2 boxes of these every two to weeks, I used them in the bones, sometimes hard to fit in but the dogs liked them. Well one day they just doubled in price, so now I will not purchase anymore. Not worth it over $9, they need to put the price back to where it was.
