Can you hang this off of a swingset?

Yes. I hang mine on our 9 ft tall swingset (many are only 6 ft tall which can limit some poses). I bring it inside when not in use so that it doesn't get dirty or dried out from sunlight.

this is not silk as in mulberry silk. Aerial "silk" refers to the stretchy, cool to touch , colorful quality of fabric used for aerial dance / aerial yoga. This aerial silk is made of tricot (polyester)
