Great question! We'll explain... Royal Arnica Oil is crafted by slowly infusing Arnica flowers, stems, and leaves into a base of organic Olive oil to achieve maximum potency. This is unique from most other topical Arnica products on the market as they typically just add Arnica essential oil to a carrier oil, which is why they can quote a % of Arnica content. In the case of Royal Arnica Salve, the final whole plant infused oil accounts for approximately 86-88% of the ingredient makeup. The remainder is made up of the organic hardeners, Jojoba and Beeswax, which provide its consistency.

Q: I have a large, old bruise on my shin...been there for 5 years. Will this product work?

Thanks for your question! If a bruise has been on your shin for 5 years, it is unlikely that any product will make it go away as it may be a sign of an internal issue. A shortage of platelets can be caused by a variety of issues and may result in a bruise on the legs not going away. Some medications can also have this side effect. This is a case where you may want to consult your healthcare provider. With all of that said, sometimes an injury can result in a blood blister near the surface of the skin and the blood sort of "dries" in place there. Without adequate circulation to the area, it may just settle in. We have had some success with such issues from a combination of exfoliation, very deep self-massage to the area, and a product such as this Arnica salve that both lubricates the area and promotes blood circulation. This encourages the cells to move along. A hot bath with epsom salts and consistent hydration may also help a lot. If you were to do all of this at once and stay with it, you may well be able to make the bruise fade and eventually disappear. We wish we had a magic solution for you, but the truth is that it may take a bit of effort to resolve. Thanks again!

Q: Is this safe to use on a 3 year old?

Great question! Yes, this Royal Arnica Salve is gentle and can be applied to the most sensitive skin. We know of customers that have even used this salve with infants and have never had a complaint. Obviously, discontinue use if irritation occurs, but you will probably find it to be gentle and calming for your 3-year-old. Enjoy!

Yes, you can certainly apply this Arnica salve as a hand lotion to help soothe joints from arthritis pain. Just note that it does contain beeswax, so it will take longer to fully absorb into your skin than a lotion. Many people like to apply it just before bed and let it absorb while they rest.
