Works great my dogs on meds that makes her heat intolerant and it keeps her cool long enough to go out and potty

The cloth fit poorly so the ice pack slid to the side. The cloth remained cool and the ice pack frozen for the duration of a 25 minute walk in 80 degree Arizona weather. My frenchie has a 16 in neck and weighs 29 pounds. This item may be better suited to an animal with a wider back. The item was sturdy and worked well as a harness. I wish it had stayed in place better.

Seems very true to size or possibly just a tiny bit on the small side. My dog was at the high end of the size range but I didn't want it to be too loose to size up. When I had a cooling jacket for my last dog, which doesn't fit my current dog, it was way different than what they seem to be making now. It wasn't layered but it did stay wet for an hour-ish. I'm not crazy about this multi-layered style, but it might be even more useful if you're like out for the whole day someplace. It just seems bulky to have to wear something like this in the hot summer. But maybe that's just me. I do think it's very well made and is going to hold water as it is supposed to. A big part of your dog staying cool is just protecting it from direct sun. I have reordered something less bulky because I don't need it to cool him for more than an hour or so.

This is an absolutely amazing cooling vest! My dog always over heats, being 110 lbs golden retriever mix. We've tried several cooling vests before that were ok, but this vest is amazing! I can totally see the difference in her when she wears it! It does slide a little to the side but small price to pay for the difference this has made!

Cooling vests are survival for me and my dogs during the summer. One of my dogs needed a replacement and I tried this one. However, while the outer fabric is porous, allowing for the moisture and air to combine and create the coolness, the lining is a nonporous material and when I felt underneath during our walk, it felt hot. That’s exactly the thing you’re trying to avoid! I should point out that I did not use the ice packs that you can add to the side pockets, but I can’t imagine they would’ve made enough of a difference. Two little 3 x 5 ice packs on a 70 pound dog in fabric that doesn’t breathe does not seem that it would work but again I didn’t try them. Sadly, since I’ve used this and it’s been wet and on my dog, I will not be returning. But in case you are willing to give it a try, my dog is a pit, lab, German shepherd mix, 70 pounds. I ordered the extra large and it was a little too big.

Very good and easy to use cooling vest. It also has the two ice packs that most other cooling vests don't have. The XL fit my 64lb shepsky perfectly. Long enough to cover most of her back. She wore it for more than an hour under very sunny condition and it held up well. It almost dried up by the end, but I just need to pour more water on it to refill.

This jacket only comes with one freezer gel pouch at the top of the back, whereas the videos advertising the product show it comes with 2 freezer gel pouches, one for each side of the dog's body.I test drove this item today in my apt. hallway and here's my reaction. I ordered a Medium for my slim 25 lb. beagle. I am not sure about the sizing. The length is good, but the body is huge. When I put the coat on dry, it seemed fine. But when I wet the coat and inserted the gel pack, I discovered that the coat slides around while the dog walks. I think if it had had the original two gel packs, one on either side, maybe that would have kept the coat in place better, as there would be a weight on each side. Instead, because the weight is on the top, once it starts to shift, because of the way the dog is pulling, etc., it swivels to one side or the other. This is a design defect.Another problem is that when you want to adjust the straps for a tighter fit, they are stitched to an inner lining, but not to the coat itself, so on a tighter sizing, the lining puffs outside of the sleeve from which the buckles emerge on either side of your dog.I also did not like that this item does NOT work if your dog wears a 2-point harness, because you cannot attach your leash to the harness through the jacket. Instead, you can only use the clip on top of the harness.
