It continues to work and I am on the second battery by now. I am not much of a cook; I use this thing to tell me how hot my preheated skillet is prior to putting raw food in the skillet to cook. I'm pretty sure a better cook might have no use for something to indicate to them how hot their skillet it.

Nice quality tool, does everything it's supposed to. Wish author of instruction had been an English speaker, they are lacking.

Seems to be relatively accurate, and the price was right. Twin spot laser guide is a handy way to make sure you're sampling the correct size spot/area, and the light up display is a nice touch when working under a vehicle!

This thermal gun works for me. I wanted an inexpensive - yet reasonably accurate temperature sensing "gun" to use around the house and garage to locate any hot and/or cold spots I might have. I am trying to locate insulation issues in my AZ home. This was one of the least expensive items of this type with better reviews. I have used it a few times around my home and garage and it has provided easy and consistent temperature readings for me. I was able to determine the first area I located and the "fix" I applied worked to take care of my thermal issues. I have also been able to locate a second area which needs more insulation . . . and I feel confident I will be able to determine if the "fix" on that works when it is applied.Overall - this does the job for me.

I can stand about 30 feet away from an oil tank and get an approximation of what the oil level is, so this is a real time saver. I would emphasize, however, that this is NOT "IS" rated (intrinsically safe), which is what you would require if working in or around explosive gases or fumes. So I would never risk using it on top of the tanks where fumes may be present. I only use from the ground, and a safe distance away, and upwind.Also, I am expecting that in time I will be discovering that checking the temp of my semi-trucks tires after driving will help me determine low tire pressures. I can also quickly take a temp reading from the wheel hubs to know that no bearing problem is imminent.I wonder, can a man use this to know which chicks are hot and which are not? :)

The Temperature gun stopped working after 5 weeks of infrequent use. The trigger can not be depressed and gun is not sending any lasers.

Great for the money. I can't say its dead on accurate but if you're using it to determine great changes in temp for areas (e.g. houses) its good for helping pin point where you need to do some extra work

If you leave the trigger pulled and scan around you will get readings on the fly. Took it outside (20 degrees) pulled the trigger and scanned upwards. Temps went from 10 to minus 50 and then to OL which meant it was below the -58 limit. Took it inside and pointed it at all my different thermometers, all readings were very accurate. If you push the top center button twice it turns the laser on or off. The reading is measured between the 2 dots which makes it easy to point at your target. For those who point it at food and expect to get a good steak this is not what this is to be used for. This is for external not internal temps!
