Bought this to check the wheel alignment on my bike. I was a little sceptical at first as its only made out of plastic but it works a treat, much easier than messing about with lengths of wood etc.

Simple to use and fantastic tool..-1 * as I just think £30 is a bit steep.

It's a wicked idea but I wouldn't say it was quite managing the job it was designed to do. For me there is too much room for error, when mounted on the sprocket it can wiggle around a bit so it doesn't necessarily sit completely indexed off the flat part of the sprocket as you would hope - if instead of the rounded plastic jaw it had a flat machined surface, possibly even magnetic you could mount it to the sprocket assured that the laser is parallel. As it exists here there is a bit too much room for inaccuracy which sort of renders the tool obsolete. After using this to check alignment I was quite far out, using a steel rule and a vernier caliper gave me a better result.I don't mean to bash the tool, I do think it's a really good idea and it has its foundations in precision measuring equipment used by machinists and engineers, which would be perfect for this application, but it lacks the precision necessary to be much use.The battery life was pretty bad as well, I got about 20 minutes of use before I had to go hunting through the dad drawer for more batteries.The chain tensioning tool is a really good piece of gear though, particularly for a bike with a single sided swing arm / cam tensioner.Love your chain wax.

Decent little tool but unfortunately only worked once thought it was the batteries but it just never worked again after taking it apart the internals are made very cheaply

Very simple to use and makes chain and back wheel alignment an absolute doddle. Whish I'd bought one years ago. No more having to use the lines on the swingarm.

Still not sure I am actually going to use it but had a voucher that was burning a hole in my pocket, I have a chain guard that gets in the way but not too bad. All in all quite pleased and might start to use it rather than the old trusty bung a rag in the back sprocket.

Whats not to like?

For the price this tool works okay. Not what I would say is a great tool. Batteries were missing when I got it so I had to go and get replacements.

Ho acquistato il True Tension, perché l'idea di un traguardatore laser che mi rendesse più semplice il centraggio ruota mi sembrava ottima. Tuttavia appena arrivato, mi son reso conto che la sua realizzazione era stata fatta con materiali molto cheap, ed il suo utilizzo ha confermato le mie impressioni, purtroppo non c'è verso di avere un funzionamento stabile del puntatore laser, si accende e spegne continuamente da solo, segno che c'è un qualche falso contatto, aprendolo, peraltro obbligatoriamente dovendo inserire le batterie, la piattina dove è montato l'interruttore si vede che e' solo appoggiata e quindi si muove perché non esiste all'interno un vero ancoraggio che la terga ferma, infine il posizionamento sulla corona è precario, e non si è mai sicuri che sia ancorato correttamente. In conclusione non vale ciò che costa, peccato perché su molte moto poteva rendere la vita più semplice.

Batteries drain faster than you can attach and start alignment.I'm going to solder wires running to pack of 3AAA batteries.I might actually get it to function longer than few seconds.Quality construction... just not quality of function.I wish it held 1-2AAA batteries vs. 2 microscopic hearing aid batteries that laser drains in less than a minute.
