Easy to apply and effectively seals wood outdoors
I used this product to treat Douglas fir plant shelves that get wetted at least once a day. After a year, water still beads up on the tops. I also used this on cedar fencing and have seen no sign of termites, unlike my neighbors, literally all of whose fences are turning to sawdust. I didn't want to repeat their mistake since termites never stop in our mild climate (coastal southern California). I treated all of my wood with borate and then used this sealant to prevent the solution from leaching out. The fact that it waterproofed the wood was a huge bonus. The treated wood sun-bleached normally and doesn't look any different than untreated wood. This product and the small effort to apply it should more than pay for itself by extending my fence's lifespan, and I plan to do a maintenance re-coat in a couple of years. All in all, it's been well worth it.

Great for our chicken coop
While you can spray this stuff on, I went ahead and carefully brushed it on our chickens 4' x4' x 5' ish cedar coop. It works, as we have had atmospheric rivers off and on recently, no cracks or leaks, water beads off even after several months of rain. Still have a bit left in the container for next year.

short volume Rating update
I ordered two 32 oz bottles of RAIN GUARD WOOD SEALER for my dock and deck. I have used RAIN GUARD CONCRETE SEALER and have been pleased with the product. my order arrived it in two different containers, one was the regular black bottler with 32 0z in it. The second was a white bottle shape differently but with the same label showing 32 oz. I have a 1 gallon sprayer marked for 16 oz to mix the product. the first bottle had 32 oz as advertised the second one was 4 oz short, 16 and 12 oz per gallon. as a result i was 100 sq ft short on my sealing job and will need t order another bottle. Are all of the new bottles going to be under filled?UpdateI contactedRain Guard Water Sealers, explained the problem of short volume to Nicholas ParkerCustomer Support and he was very heplful. he had RAINGUARD Mmail a replacement 32 ozbottle of RAINGUARD WOOD SEALER to me. arrived in three days. Thanks Nicholas.New rating 5 STARS in customer service.

No odor, simple to apply. Does not raise wood grain.
I just coated a bunch of cedar beams with this product. I am going to use them as ground level edges to garden beds. I can't tell you how well the product holds up to sunlight, rain, critters, etc. yet, but I can say that the product is easy to mix, is simple to apply, has no noticeable odor and wipes up easily. It also soaked in easily and did not raise the grain of the wood I was treating. After drying, my wood was close to its original color, with some minimal darkening that I consider normal for clear surface finishes. Try using a foam brush to apply it if you are working indoors with it to limit the amount of spray floating around. I would also recommend NOT applying it in direct sunlight to give it a little extra drying time.About the only issue I had using it was that the bottle of concentrate that I received did not has the cap screwed on tightly, so a little leaked out in transit.

not worth the price
Bought this for the asy spray applicator which sprays blotches when you spray. So I end up using it with a brush. For the cost of this small bottle I could have just purchased a can from a reputable manufacture and had more product.
