What type of connector does it use?

To avoid confusion with a previous answer, this microphone accepts the female end of a standard XLR cable just like any other microphone that you can find that isn't USB and doesn't have a hardwired cable. I have never heard of a microphone accepting the male end of an XLR cable.

Unless you have a powered speaker with inputs (like the Mackie SRM150), you wouldn't be able to plug this directly into a speaker. In a typical application, you would plug the mic into a mixer via XLR cable, the mixer would run to a power amp, then the power amp would run to the speaker.
