Stays on it. Big space saver for me. My tools are in my small garage. Collapses and stands against the wall. Big space saver

You could do it with a bit of ingenuity, but as stated above you probably wouldn't want to. It would place the saw way too high for most people. The rolling stand that comes with the 7491RS is really solid and well built. I would recommend searching that.

Works great with the Dewalt 12" Compound Sliding Miter Saw. That's what I paired it with and it's an awesome combo.

Can A quick connect system be used with this stand?

No. The bolts connect to square nuts in a track, so you won't lose them. The DW723 and DW724 have quick connect systems.
