What size is the core? Will it fit on my Canon 36" printer?

You should consult some professional literature, but I personally doubt that you could use this on a printer! It not made for printers.

Can it be used for other paints?

Yes. This paper is very sturdy. I've let bleach sit on it and it's fine. I've also used modeling medium on it and it holds up fine!
