There are several of these devices online, this one had a good gauge steel and was nice and solid when it arrived. It creates a great indirect cooking area inside your Weber and a nice volcano type hotspot for searing. I put a temperature gauge in the lid of my Weber and it's easily hitting 600°+ inside. No worries about drip and flare ups on your indirect side because there's no fire under that part.It's an inexpensive tool to add to your grill and it helps control heat zones well and concentrates heat exactly where you think it would.Cool on a volcano (apologies Genesis).

I have a 22 inch, Weber Kettle (see photo) and I found this chimney a bit too big for my particular size kettle. As such, it did not afford much indirect cooking surface. After much thought and even more effort, I sized-down this chimney to a smaller diameter. Now, the top diameter is 8 inches. It now works great for my grill size.

It is a great alternative to the name brand at much lower price. Works wonderfully and chicken has never tasted better. They probably cut some corners because edges are rough and could easily cut your fingers.

Just used it for the first time last night. Worked great. Solidly built. No solder or rivets used. The heat diverter comes in 4 pieces with tabs connecting them but each section is made out of sheets of heavy gauge stainless steel so the tabs and tab slots are integral to each section. The cone is one piece of the same heavy gauge with a rolled edge to make it super solid with no flex. The heat diverter also has some rolled edges for stiffness. There are a few bare edges so if you're clumsy you might want to wear gloves when assembling the heat diverter.All-in-all a good buy.

Great way to sear steaks

This item is awesome! I have been wanting one for a long time, but was put off by the prices that I had been seeing. I came across this one and decided to pull the trigger. I was not disappointed. It really does a great job. Did chicken wings a few times, as well as bone in legs breasts and thighs. Exceeded my expectations every time. It is heavier than others I have come in contact with, and really heats up. If you are looking for a whirlpool (vortex), you will not go wrong if you purchase this item. I look forward to many outstanding cooks with this. Great price and a great value.

As a new user of Weber kettles, I wanted to expand my lineup of accessories for the kettle without spending too much money. This accessory was a great call! I have made consistent, excellent wings on the grill thanks to the vortex. It’s a must have in my opinion! Be careful because the fire does get hot so make sure you wear those grill gloves when handling!

Bought this to use on my Kamado Joe II. I was blown by how well it improves my cooks. The indirect heat produces perfectly cooked chicken, the centre sears steaks to perfection! In my opinion, it works better than the ceramic heat deflectors on the Kamado when grilling chicken!

Have used a few times now, hold heat really well - does just what it says it does
