Q: Ok, I know this is going to be a stupid question but why are there balls on the long ends of the wrenches. I have only seen them with the same size on

I was the first to hand grind a ball end on a long allen wrench to act as a swivel tool to be able to reach a bolt on a machine with an obstuction in the way. it worked great but was very tedius to make. About 90 days later the devil had already copied my idea and it was on the market . lol I guess he needed hore money.
