Anyone that has used this..... Do you use just this or this with another additive as well?

We used this when closing our salt water pool and the water was crystal clear when opening. It is very important to have you water completely balanced and have absolutely no algae or phosphates upon closing. I would hate to open a green pool so we will keep using this!

Does this work on a non chlorine pool?

What kind of system are you using? All systems clorine to inhibit bacteria I have use this in my saltwater pool for the last two years and it was fantastic! But I also have a full cover and I pretreat and clean extensively before using this product. Has work Fabulously for me but it depends on your system

We live in Vermont? Does the pool winterpill freeze in very cold weather?

No, just puncture it and throw it in before covering the pool. We are in West Michigan, temperatures below freezing for weeks on end, no issues.

Does this contain an algaecide?

Last year was the first time I used this product, it made opening my pool a lot easer and I used less chemicals to get it clear and we were swimming within 2 weeks with a clear pool , I will definitely be purchasing this again at the end of the season instead of buying all those closing chemicals
