This brush is magic!
Love this brush! The brush we used before hurt my toddlers head. She has long fine hair that gets tangled easily and would get mad when I would try and brush the tangles out. This thing is like magic and has greatly helped our nighttime routine!

This brush is literally a knot genie, and a masseuse, and a smoother, and an instrument for making wishes come true!
This brush is amazing! My daughter has long curly hair. She is of mixed race. Her hair is the exact same texture as mine, also of mixed race. Our hair is corkscrew curly but not tight. We both need mousse or styling lotion to really hold the curl nicely. Both of our hair gets frizzy in humidity or when sweating and pretty tangled when we wear it out....especially in summer. So, to the rescue comes this gem of a brush! My daughter was fine with a wide toothed comb but because this brush came so highly recommended from a friend who was using it on her daughters curls I purchased it. It's simply amazing! First of all, it's big and fun. Makes brushing your hair seem like a magnificent event instead of a chore. I love that it's hollow and you can kind of hear an echo as it moves through your hair. The bristles are hard and feel good, like the massage your scalp has been dreaming of! You just have to be careful not to brush to hard on little ones scalps. My daughter is 6 and loves how this thing massages her head. I start at the bottom and work my way up just like the wide toothed comb. It works much better. The different length bristles really act as smothers as they separate the hair. I'm able to achieve fatter, more banana curls with this brush. I liked it so much I got a green one for me! So if that's not a ringing endorsement I don't know what is. I love my Genie brush and so does my daughter! We've had them about 4 months and they are still like new. Some of the bristles do bend a bit but they are somewhat flexable and it has made no difference in performance.

Ok but not for thick hair
This worked well for getting out knots, but it doesn't work that well for thick hair. The bristles aren't long enough to get through thicker hair and I have to brush the underside and separate hair to get all the layers. It's easy to clean though!

This brush is perfect I don't even have to hold the hair tight ...
WOW this brush works. I can't believe it did. My 4 year old has long down to her butt hair, VERY think and curly it is always a chore to brush her hair without making her cry and even harder for my husband he hates doing it. This brush is perfect I don't even have to hold the hair tight up top while brushing the ends or anything. I just go at it with the brush and not one tear. I have brushed her hair even after going swimming and going driving with the windows open and by the time i got home her hair was dry and a mess, I thought for sure this will be the test, sure enough not one scream or tear didn't even have to use leave in conditioner or anything. I got to say when i opened the box and saw it and felt the bristles on it i thought for sure i would be returning it because it felt so cheap and no way it would hold up to brush my daughters thick hair because the bristles are so soft and flexible but its been 4 days for very hard brushing and tons of knots and still looks new and all bristles still there. I also like that there is no knobs at the end of the tips so it doesn't put out as much hair as the normal brushes which is nice, now for this brush though i have to brush a little more and have to go from underneath too and the sides because her hair is so thick and can't get through it all just from the front side but that is fine with me since she doesn't cry anymore and finally my husband can brush her hair also, going to go buy one now without a handle to keep in the car for brushing both mine and her hair after driving with the windows down and things like that.

Best brush for sensitive heads
This is our second Knot Genie. We had the first for years so it’s very durable. The bristles wore down so we bought this new one. I was ready to cut my daughter’s hair when she was little because her head was so sensitive and this helped so much. It brushed through the worst snarled hair with ease. It detangles without a fight. I would say it’s ideal for thin to medium thickness hair. It’s not big so it fits nicely into a medium size purse. You won’t regret buying a Knot Genie if you have a sensitive head.

Broke within less than a minute
The head broke off the brush in less than a minute. EXTREMELY cheaply made, for the price they could have at least put glue on the bristles to hold them on to the head. Feels really cheap and light weight, save your money, you can get a better brush at the dollar store. I've never had a cheeper feeling brush, very disappointed to say the least. Come on, seriously put a little effort into making sure your product doesn't fall apart in less than a minute.

SAVES your kids hair and your sanity!
I have 3 girls, all with different hair types. The oldest is a swimmer and her hair is long and a disaster most of the time. This brush does amazingly quick work making her look presentable. The middle had curly hair a toddler but has since just turned to wild thick hair. She is the reason I bought this brush. While yes the bristles look like they can't handle thick hair - they can. The point (I believe) of the multiple tiny flexible bristles is to NOT yank out their hair. Each little bristle gently works on the tangles vs just yanking out the hair - we hardly ever have hair in the brush now. My youngest has stick straight thin "baby" hair... while this brush does nothing to keep her flyaway hair tamed it does QUICKLY without pulling out (the very minimal) hair she has get the tangles out so she can run off in seconds vs, minutes of brushing. This brush made me think I just spent "how much?" for the little bit of plastic that looks no different than the girls barbie brushes.... but trust me - it IS amazing - and give it a chance and it will get the tangles out...Oh and about the bristles scratchy feeling on the scalp... I have found that most of the girls tangles aren't really at the scalp - and because the brush does such a great job gently getting tangles out we hardly ever have to "brush" their scalp... we have just adjusted our brushing technique to limit the amount og pressure at the scalp - and I think the girls just said something in the begining because it was a different feeling.
