Great value at $1200 on-sale, not so great at $1500, small quality control suggestions

I couldn't build this computer on my own unless I had an additional $150! And I would likely end up with a less great-looking case.-Full towers with ATX are just wonderful for cooling options, expansion, and cable management. This is a really striking computer case, if you don't mind the iBuyPower logo engraved in the bottom shroud.-The i7-9700k is a great chip, nothing to say here unless you want to go full 9900ks.-The RTX-2070 is just about all you really need for gaming at this price point unless you want to spend close to $500 more-Included 650W power supply was sufficient in my build despite other reviews. Channel Well is actually a 2nd-tier company that makes power supplies for the likes of EVGA and Corsair, so these aren't bad PS's. Mine was an 80plus Gold.-Motherboard is decent with lots of features and expansion slots, but see below about BIOS and RGB control-Computer came out-of-the-box ready to rockCons:-Cable management was atrocious or non-existant. I recommend redoing everything yourself and cable-tying to hide hideous wiring, and utilizing some of the bottom mobo fan and rgb headers.-The Apacer memory is a bit of a no-name brand with questionable reliability. I've had no issues yet, but you can see there was cost-savings here. 2666 speed is fine for a 9700k; you'll only marginally benefit from anything faster.-The motherboard does not seem to have BIOS updates, or rather, you have to special-request it depending on CPU upgrades. This board DOES NOT support standard BIOS updates that you can search up for the brother board (see what I did there?) "Asrock Phantom Gaming 4". The 4-IB is a special version from iBuyPower that you cannot flash over.-AIO cooler is suboptimal to begin with and stopped working properly after about 6 months. I suspect this was due to either a cheap pump in the included model, bad application of thermal paste, or a bit of both. I was hitting 115C (!!) on hwmonitor during gaming when I decided it was time to order a decent AIO.-Fan header 1 was burnt out on my board; I only found out because I tried to cable manage everything and run the PWM fan in a more hidden way instead of straight across the middle of the board. I ended up using header 3, so not the end of the world, but please test all of your headers when your PC arrives.-The RGB fans might look cool, but they had no speed control to speak of, so good luck making quiet profiles for idle and higher-speed profiles for gaming/load. Fan curves don't really do anything for these full-bore DC fans. The "pulling" PWM fan does have speed control, barely.-Airflow in general was set up in a silly way, with a push-pull on the AIO (shown to not really benefit over just push), all fans pushing air out (no intake fans), one fan on the back side and one fan on the top. The included dust filter for the front was doing essentially nothing since air was just being pulled in the side passively.-RGB setup wasn't really my cup of tea. The case ambient top and under-lighting, as well as the front RGB's went through a special remote-control-only module on the backside of the case, while all three RGB fans and AIO pump RGB were stacked onto one RGB addressable header. From stock, there were BIOS options that had to be disabled to make the computer not shine like the sun when it was shut down, and more BIOS options to turn off to make the AIO not default into rainbow mode when off. I ended up getting a few converter wires and running everything through either addressable RGB or the RGB headers, and not being a fan of the ambient top/bottom strips, I removed those. The Zotac card also had RGB, but it would bug out and you couldn't turn it off without reinstalling drivers. I disabled it (not IBP's fault here). So to manage the stock RGB, one would need the physical remote, the Asrock Polychrome program for the headers, and the Zotac firestorm program for the 2070. Yikes. Would be better if parts were chosen that were all compatible through one program or controller.-Overall, a lot of parts choices related to RGB and cooling didn't make a whole lot of sense and were detrimental to later upgrades like a full PCIe fan/RGB controller. There doesn't seem to be any specific reason for this as RGB PWM and DC fans tend to have similar pricing, but maybe that IBP threw together whatever they could from whatever supplier would cut them a deal.I cannot speak for tech support as I have not needed to contact them, the system has been reliable sans the cooling issue that I fixed on my own.TL;DR - For $1200, buy it. You could do better yourself if the price is listed at $1500, so wait for deals or go that route. I'm giving 5 stars because my personal price to performance was extremely good.

Great so far!
I've only had this computer for a few days, but it's a massive improvement over my 6 year old build it replaced. Everything worked perfectly out of the box, no problems. When I opened up the case to take out the shipping material, I was pleased to see that everything held up very well in transit (despite UPS banging up my box). I usually build my own computers but got this on an Amazon day deal. I figured I'd have to get everything in my build at a considerable discount to match this price - and even then, it wouldn't look as good as this pre-built (I'm terrible with wire management).I'd like to address a few concerns I've read on here. A lot of people have complained about the generic RAM, and the speed that it runs at - and let me tell you right now, it isn't a problem. While you could upgrade to some 3200 for about $70, it isn't necessary., You'd be getting a very minor performance bump but you'd be generating a lot more heat. Now, if you want to overclock your system, I might not recommend it with this system based on the motherboard (There isn't anything wrong with the Z390 form factor, but I don't know that it's the best for overclocking.) and power supply. If you do want to overclock this system, it's purely to show off. There isn't really anything game-wise that this computer can't run at or above 60 fps on the highest settings. And there isn't anything wrong with the power supply they used either. I read some reviews that said it wasn't big enough, and this simply isn't true (unless you want to attempt overclocking, but again, it isn't the least bit necessary to overclock this system). While I personally wouldn't buy a computer like this at full price, it is a steal when it is discounted (paid around $1300 with tax on Prime day). The case really is beautiful. My ONLY complaint (and it isn't worth removing a star for) is that the case has one LED light inside that will not turn off when you shut down unless you manually flip the power switch on the psu. This isn't a problem, and I've taken to the habit of flipping the switch off after i shut down at night, but it would be really nice if I could turn that LED off somehow (all the other LED's are very easy to turn on and off).Oh, and one last note. Contrary to many reviews I've read, the keyboard and mouse I was sent work great. I'll probably end up using my old keyboard and mouse until they die before I start using the new ones, but they are just as good quality-wise if not better than the gaming keyboard and mouse set I've been using for the past 8 years.I will update this review below if any issues come up after this initial review (posted June 22nd, 2019).11-16-19, four month update:Computer is still rubbing fine. I hsd a strange issue for a bit with what seemed like a slow startup that took 1-2 minutes from time to time. Ended up this was because of the dp to dvi conversion cable I was using (I was still using my old monitor). If anyone else has this issue, just buy a new monitor with displayport. Works flawlessly. I'd like to add that I ended up buying an htc vive, and I haven't found a single vr game that makes this computer hiccup. It plays everything at max settings. No overclocking and no excess heat generation. Still running great, no issues.

3 years later and still going strong. EXPERIENCED BUILDERS ONLY
TLDR: PC is still in great shape 3 years later. I had to replace the CPU cooler and the RAM, but it otherwise has been a very solid build since I got it. I spent maybe $300 more to replace things which still saves me about $900 on what the parts would have run me individually. Great way to save money on a new build.I recommend this ONLY for experienced users who will be able to identify bad components and replace as needed. NEW PC BUYERS BEWARE, it will NOT come perfect out of the box.DETAILS:As the title says, I bought one of the 9700k builds in August of 2019. The PC was working, but the cpu was overclocked and the crappy cooler they had on it wasn't enough to keep it from overheating. The RAM was some brand I'd never heard of, and it was very low quality. I replaced the cooler and the RAM with parts of my own that I had on hand. If I'd had to buy them, I'd have had to pay an extra like $300. I still ended up saving myself about $900 for what the parts for this build would have cost me individually. The GPU was MSI, which is solid and my favorite brand, personally. It was a 2070 and it's still going strong. The motherboard was Asus. Surprisingly solid build that's lasted me years now, and will last me a while to come. Still plays all the new games extremely well (looking at you, Elden Ring) and I couldn't be happier with it.By all means, builders, be skeptical and vigilant, but give it a chance. It ended up really paying off for me in the end.
